"The brochure was far more glamorous than the actual property. These were miners cabins, small as a caravan, old, well worn, bed pushed up against the wall so not readily accessible (unless you are extremely agile) the air conditioner was emitting a foul odour (Old and musty smell). We decided not to stay and the staff were really fabulous about our decision. "Accommodation in post boom mining towns is now affordable. The Walkabout is a rabbit warren of donga's, single men's quarters and tired Spanish mission style stuff from the 80's; retro FIFO. The pub grub servings are not as huge as at Roebuck plains."
