"Absolutely incredible stay at the Hotel Corte di Gabriela in Venice. Our host, Massimo, along with all of the hotel staff were so welcoming, courteous, and kind. "This property was beautiful. It is very well situated, by the grand canal, next to a vaporetto and alilaguna stop. Two minutes walk from there is the campo San Angelo which opens your discovery of Venice. There are lots of restaurants nearby. The rooms were very quiet, with shutters so we wouldn’t be woken up by the morning light. Our bed was very comfortable. We loved the bath with jets. "We stay there whenever in Venice. The staff is friendly and accommodating to all requests. The terrace on Grand Canal is a wonderful place for hanging out and the hotel is an easy walk from St. Marks, museums and designer shops. "When I asked the hotel how to find it from the water taxi, the instructions started with "walk through the clock tower"...and that's where the fairy tale began. This hotel is tucked away in the gorgeous alleys behind Santo Marco. The setting is stunning, and the customer service at this hotel is top notch. As soon as we stepped inside a valet whisked away our bags, they recommended excellent restaurants steps away, and offered a complimentary private boat tour to Murano (DO THIS!). They remembered us by face every time we stopped to grab our room key. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. They also arranged for a private water taxi back to the train station (this might be the best $50 I ever spent...so much better than tackling the public water taxi with heavy luggage as we did on the way there). 10/10 across the board!"
