"Location was a little too far for us to walk downtown, it wasn't too far but there were some sketchy characters in the area. The staff were lovely, the room ideal. We worried about our car outside because the area looked sketchy, but we did not have any problems so perhaps we wrongly judged the area"

"My wife and I had a delightful time at the historic Waldo Emerson Inn. The back half was built in 1753 and the front half in the 1780, yet this historic home had all the conveniences of the modern world: snug windows, heated bathroom floor, and easy to control heatng. The B&B was originally the home of the great-uncle of Ralph Waldo Emerson. One of our favorite times were breakfast. Amelia, our hostess, is a great cook and so much fun to be around. "Don't be mistaken by first impressions as you drive up to this property. I'd like to call it a diamond in the rough. The host/owner, Bob will admit the property needs substantial renovations to the exterior but don't be misled. The property has it's charm and the location cannot be beat for the price. Park your car and forget it. Everything is within easy walking distance. This is our second time for this property and will definitely try to stay again next year. "

"Our unit was a 2 Queen bed Townhouse room. We couldn't believe it, we loved it!! Everything was brand new. The staff was very helpful and kind to guiding us where to eat and of course how to get to "Marginal Way". The grounds were well kept and the gas grills spotless. Wish we could have stayed longer."
