"an old historic building with very thin walls without sound proofing or insulation. Room 4 is on the ground floor, next to sidewalk and the restaurant next door. It was quiet by 11:30 (on a Monday night). Expedia reservation was of no help trying to get access to the remote, virtual check in process because the front door requires a four-digit code (not set prior to my visit). "We returned after many years to this historic property to find it had aged well. Staff are polite and competent. Rooms are large and walls are thick. We had a nice view of Rock Creek Park. On Connecticut Avenue, steps from the hotel, there are a number of excellent restaurants, a CVS, and a good liquor store."
