“Titletown U.S.A” is known for its sports culture and fabulous outdoor attractions, such as the huge wildlife sanctuary within its city limits.

Wisconsin’s mid-east city is most famous for its football team. The Green Bay Packers have been so successful in winning championships in the National Football League over the years that their home turf has been nicknamed “Titletown U.S.A.” Catch a game at Lambeau Field and enjoy a tour of the stadium on off-days. Fans of football will appreciate the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, which houses souvenirs and memorabilia, trophies, photographs and video highlights.

Even if you aren’t devoted to football, Green Bay offers many attractions to make your visit memorable. Children will love the NEW Zoo, which houses a range of species, from penguins to lions. Take an African-style safari to feed the zoo’s beloved giraffes from your hand. If you have a rainy day, head to the Children’s Museum of Green Bay. The hands-on exhibits will see young visitors climbing a lighthouse and working their way through a digestive system.

With Lake Michigan serving as the city’s north border, Green Bay is defined by its natural surroundings. Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is a 700-acre (280-hectare) refuge tucked into the city limits. Bird watchers will rejoice at the variety of species protected within the sanctuary. Visit the park’s famous wolf exhibit to see these animals within a fenced-off area.

The city is also renowned for its Botanical Garden, a sprawling park filled with native plants and flowers. The garden has special area for children that includes a tree house, pond and giant sundial.

Do a little time travel at Heritage Hill State Park, where you can watch performers act out life as it was in the mid-1800s. Bay Beach Amusement Park offers another slice of the past. Even today, most of its rides are very inexpensive. Bring along your camera to shoot a panorama of the surrounding area from the top of the Ferris wheel.

Austin Straubel International Airport is conveniently located 7 miles (11 kilometers) outside Green Bay. Once in the city, get around the downtown area using the Metro bus services.
