Great hotel, great location. We stayed for 2 nights with breakfast, the only fault was the breakfast as a westerner burgers fried chicken and pork skewers and chips are not for us , no toast or scrambled egg in sight shame as this let us down.

The location was ideal and the roof top bar was picturesque. I most enjoyed being able to wake up to freshly baked goods in the mornings. The staff were 100/10 professional, helpful and exceeded expectations. Highly recommended.

Staff was kind and helpful. Room was sparce and somewhat empty, basic amenities in room, drawers in the room were difficult to open/close. Nothing to write home about but a fine place to stay for a night. I would book elsewhere for a longer stay.

They arranged a private hike to a nearby waterfall, followed by a farm‑to‑table experience where we learned to identify local mountain vegetables, harvested them together, and cooked with traditional Japanese ingredients. We even learned how to make delicious local sauces from scratch. It was immersive, meaningful, and gave us a deeper understanding of the village and its culture. Another highlight was their unique half‑board concept. Instead of the usual ryokan-style meals, NIPPONIA partners with local restaurants — breakfast is delivered to your room, and dinner is served at different restaurants in the village. It’s such a smart setup because you get to enjoy a variety of local cuisines every night while supporting the community. Overall, NIPPONIA Miyama is more than a place to stay — it’s an experience that blends comfort, culture, and genuine hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a peaceful, authentic, and beautifully curated countryside escape.

Bathroom a little bit too small and more storage for clothes as we were living out of our suitcases no room to put stuff. The lifts tend to be slow

Beautiful day at this hotel. Rooms were large and beautiful. Location was close to station and Shinbaiahi shopping street. Staff were wonderful. Special thanks to David at reception who helped with luggage forwarding, booking appointments and making phone calls to confirm opening hours for facilities we needed. Treat yourself and sty here!
