Gulangyu Island Pet-friendly Vacations

The room 80503 was very noisy feeling like Melbourne F1 Grand Prix, but I was told it was windy. I asked for changing my room, reception answered that other rooms weren’t available (It’s after 2:00pm) I couldn’t sleep at night, asking reception for a quiet room. He found a room 80517 which was less noisy than 80503. Unfortunately it was a smoking room. I had no choice but staying in the room. I was very frustrated. I am here asking you hotels.com what room did you book for me? Please see attached pictures.

Pool facilities were excellent for lap swimming. Pool was 25 x 10 yards, as advertised, divided into two (wide) lap lanes and an even wider third area. At entry to exercise area, room key exchanged for submersible wristbands electronic key, and towel pickup. so you can conveniently lock valuables and wear the wristband when swimming. provided in locker (bottom bin) are flip-flops, to Swap for shoes. At pool area is rack for flip flops. Next to pool are comfortable chairs and tables for putting towel etc, with 5th story view full height windows, and outside area. At exit, an exchange used towel for a clean one. Back to the locker room, spacious shower areas with shower stall with shampoo rinse and soap, with separate ante-sitting area. Spinner for drying wet swim suit. Individual mirror area with hair dryer, wrapped comb, qtips. Water dispensers with cups. Wire basket for used flops, when changing back to street shoes, and towel drop there also. Everything very well thought out.

In concurrence with others, I found check-in not the friendliest. They did their job, but not with any smiles or pleasant attitudes. Also, internet does have issues, but follow instructions another wrote. A positive, they did accommodate my wishes/requests. However, with an issue on day 2 and later at check-out, clerks those times were fabulous, helpful, and cheerful. Mattress on the very firm side. Smoking is allowed. My room didn't smell, but the hallway did, and the smoke came in from there, even with a towel at the bottom of the door (as it came in the side). Housekeeping always had a cheerful smile. Wide variety of restaurants in the neighborhood. Metro station right outside the gate. Quite handy.

Superb stay. Our family stayed in Xiamen C & D Hotel for 5 nights. The hotel is outstanding in every way: very clean, reasonable rate, delicious breakfast buffet, with an enormous and beautiful tropical garden, with a 1-mile walking/jogging trail, tropical trees, flowers, and plants, lotus flower pond, a few cute animals (ostrich, black & white swans, and blue peacocks!). Love the garden style luxurious setting, friendly staff. To my family, Xiamen C & D Hotel is our favorite and the best 5 star hotel in Xiamen. Will definitely stay there again.
