Wonderful stay at the Nagoya Kanko Hotel. Beautifully appointed lobby, restaurant, bar, and room. Breakfast buffet was terrific and offered delicious food for all tastes. Most importantly when my daughter experienced a medical emergency, the staff was incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to be helpful -- they ended up setting up an immediate appointment at an appropriate clinic (she had already been to another clinic in the city that had not been helpful) where they identified the problem (a severe infection) and immediately addressed the issue with professionalism and kindness. We are so grateful to the staff who helped us to find this wonderful clinic (Yamada City Clinic). Highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

Love love love this place! My mum and I stayed for 5 nights and wished we can stay another week. The room is very comfortable and clean. Spacious for Japanese standards. The in-room washing machine is great and so convenient . The staff were very friendly and helpful. Helped to organise my luggage delivery to the next city as well. Thanks! The hotel is just a stroll from Osu shopping street which we loved. Not very near to the subway but still walkable. Planning to visit again next year!

For the room comfort, condition and cleanliness, I would have ranked this hotel with 4 stars, but this was my only stop in Japan where I encountered a very impersonal and unhelpful service, both during check in and during breakfast. Otherwise, the location of the hotel is conveniently next to a train station that is only a couple of stops from the main Nagoya station. There are several dining options within walking distance. The room was nice with a view of the city, with the only drawback being that the sink is separated from the room only by a roller blind. The breakfast was fine in terms of food quality and selection, but way overpriced and extremely chaotic and unpleasant due to the arrangement of the dining room.

Overall can only rate it OK and not sure if would want to stay at this hotel if I do visit Nagoya again. Distance: ok ‘quite’ near to malls and Nagoya station, however if to drag luggage from station to hotel vice versa there is a challenge with the distance. Avoid underground walkway as is up and down stairs. Cleanliness: I was surprised on the hotel eco efforts, sure no cleaning to be done on daily and they will replace towels, provide the tea and bottled water. Do note the replaced new towels are placed inside plastic bag so not sure how this help with their eco claims. The ‘new’ towels are not that clean have spotted hair on the towels in the plastic bag 3 times during my 5 nights stay. Amenities are the very basic ones. Room: central aircon and super super hot, basically like no air ventilation. I was given a corner room facing the road and I must say sound proof very bad super noisy from the road traffic. The saving grace will be the staff at the reception, very helpful team.

Clean

A perfect stay for our family after hiking at Kamikochi. The staff were extremely helpful both beforehand (prompt and detailed messages regarding how to reach there, our dietary needs, etc.) and during our stay. We are vegetarian and they went above and beyond in making our meals special. I honestly don’t even know how to describe how delicious and carefully prepared and served both the dinner and breakfast were. The location is stunning and the Onsen was wonderful. A stay we will never forget!
