This hotel has forever been updating their rooms.
What was once a regal destination is mediocre at best unless you fork out for a gold experience.
I’ve personally stayed at this location many times over the past 20 years and while the common areas of the hotel is mostly enjoyed the rooms are always under maintained. Paint, caulking…always sloppy. Bathroom floor is sticky and dust bunnies collecting in the corner is disappointing.
All of this to say I would highly encourage hotel management to visit and stay at their luxury competitors in Toronto. We were given a room right next to the storage room and it was incredibly noisy from 7am-10am. Glass clinking for hours with carts rolling in and out constantly. Definitely not a relaxing getaway we were hoping for. Favourite things about this hotel is definitely the location and The Library Room Bar. The housekeeping staff is also very friendly.
