5 stars the concierge was incredible the valet butlers also top class Got us in best restaurant same night Friendly clean etc only issue was the pavilion friend and I were both staying in hotel asked for a table they said only bar available 7 tables were empty the entire time we ate the caviar on the bar wasn’t great experience That’s what made hotel great not excellent

Still the greatest hotel in the world.

I am hoarse from bleating about this hotel on every site on which it is mentioned. If you are, by nature, slightly old-fashioned, non-woke and, in my case, arthritic, there is no hotel to compare. I have now stayed here four times and, whilst it may require a small mortgage to afford its luxury, it is worth every soux. Being forgetful, as well as arthritic, I managed to mislay my shaving kit. The BAL had the answer.......a boxed set of soap and a razor with a wooden handle. For God's sake, a wooden handle! That small detail is what sets this Shangri-la apart from all others. I want to stay forever.......because, unless the good Lord decides otherwise, I certainly won't live forever.
