Even the hotel is in the center of the village, I feel so calm and relaxed. The staff is very nice and helpful.

The staffs are very helpful and friendly. The bento which was sold in the hotel is very yummy! But the transport is not as convenient as I expected. Anyway I recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Alishan for a good break after a tired journey.

Excellent stay. Very interesting and clean room. Great value. Free guided tours to see fireflies and town exceptional. Would be nice to have a map of where to park around town. Parking is free but there is no place to park except for parking lots that the town has set up.

Located in the hills of Alishan, this was a great little inn found in the historical village of Fenchihu. The room that we stayed has huge with Japanese tatami beds to stay. Make sure that you have a chance to enjoy the Fenchihu bento boxed meal when you stay there. The food is great!

Nice and spacious room
nice and spacious room, fixtures maybe a bit old, cleaniness still can have some improvement. But overall were happy with the hotel, had a great stay, just at the end of the old street, conveniently with a 7-11.

Charming, rustic. Appreciated Japanese soaker tub with herbal soak. At our advanced age, coping with Japanese style room was a challenge (mattress on floor, only cushions on floor for seating) but it was a delightful experience. Hotel restaurant closed by 7 p.m.

Good hotel considering location & limited options
I would give a lower rating if this were a big city hotel - but in context of the fact that this is a small town with limited options, this property certainly met if not exceeded my expectations. The room itself was fine (I had a Japanese style one) - and decor seemed fairly clean / well maintained. Slight exception is with the bathroom: shower spray was a bit funny, and with all that moisture the wood is starting to rot slightly. Overall though was fine (and i'm usually quite squeamish with unclean bathrooms). WiFi was so-so, but worked. Breakfast not exciting for the western palate, but compares favourably to hotel atop Alishan the night before. Location is amazing: very close to both bus and train stations, and right by the old street. Can't be more convenient, and 7-11 is upstairs. Service was fine: delivered with a smile and all my queries answered. I did not test their English. The famous 'railway lunch' which attracts outsiders is actually quite tasty. Would be happy to stay here again if I ever pass by again in the future.

Simply awesome and great local breakfast
Amazing. A minute walk from both the Alishan Railway and public bus terminal. Right next to the Fenqihu Old Street and this is the hotel that sells the famous Fenqihu railway lunch box. Hotel guests get NT10 off each lunchbox. Room is spacious and we had a Japanese-style room. Convenience store, 7-Eleven, is just next to the hotel if you want to grab something in a hurry. The hotel offers 3 free tours for hotel guests in the area too - check out their website for full details. The free local breakfast spread is fantastic - love the congee with sweet potatoes.

雖然建築有點老舊，但住起來還算舒服，地點就在老街入口處，離奮起湖車站也很近，要說美中不足之處，大概就是泡澡桶較小了一點吧

看得出來重新裝修過，所以不太會有住到老旅社的古意感。 淋浴水量充足，熱水夠熱，對於跋涉了一天的身體療癒很好。 一人可蹲坐的檜木桶泡澡，男生會比較合用，畢竟它是很多遊客使用過。
