Good location, but could use a touch up
This was just an ok hotel. The positive thing is that it is nicely located not too far from downtown and there is a park around the corner. That being said, the following things were a bit problematic. 1. Breakfast options were limited and on the first morning of breakfast, I noticed a couple cockroaches running along the buffet counter. 2. The shower pressure was not very good. 3. After the toilet was flushed, water seeped out from underneath the toilet and ran to the drain in the middle of the bathroom floor. 4. I requested help with a PCR test to return home which the front desk gentleman obliged to do by calling someone to come to the hotel to assist. I was charged 25,000 CFA for the test with no receipt given, even though I asked.

Nightmare
The only good thing here is the restaurant and its staff. Receptin desk very disappointing and quality of their servuces is awful. I can't recommend this hotel.

Great stay
Overall great experience . The staff was nice and professional. The bed was comfy, the sheets bed and towels very clean I booked a suit and the living room need to be little decorate to be attractive.

For my money this hotel hits the sweet spot between luxury and economy. Comfortable bed & bedding, good shower, functioning A/C, helpful and friendly staff. The food and drinks (like yummy fresh fruit juices) are excellent but pricey. Nice little pool, and the poolside seating makes a nice place to put feet up and relax or work, even if you don't swim. Kind of wish they'd provide an extra towel and a washcloth. Like all hotels they change out all the linens and towels each time the housekeepers come in, so I just keep the Do Not Disturb sign up except when I need them. Occasional little maintenance problem like the bathtub not draining well--no big deal so I didn't call maintenance. A/C works well, a bit noisy as you'd expect from a wall unit.

No hot water, although they could easily have switched on the water heater, as we only found out in the morning. But most of all, surcharge for breakfast despite breakfast clearly included in my booking. Next stay will be in another hotel.

Hotel management needs to pay attention to facilities maintenance particularly in bathrooms and bedrooms to main good standard. Good breakfast selection - though breakfast time should be extended beyond 10:00 am during the week. International standard is 10:30 AM.

I booked it on Expedia with full payment for 6 nights and when i reached there they said no availability they have cancelled it. They lied that they have transferred my booking to Hotel Djeuga Palace i was told to go there even at that hotel they did not reserved they lied a century. Then they took me to a 3rd Grade Hotel Franco which was even worst never in my life i have stayed in such a rubbish hotel.They fought with me for Taxi Airport pickup service. I never stayed in the hotel that i booked. I want Expedia to refund my full Money back immediately or i will have to take legal action which please be noted.Refund my money to my Credit Card with 24 Hrs and confirm ASAP.

Hello Mr Sachin I do not understand your complaint about your recent stay at Hotel Franco de Yaoundé Your reservation at the hotel La Falaise was scheduled for your arrival on 11/11/2019 and your room was indeed booked for this date But you did not arrive that day and you did not inform the hotel that you missed your flight as you explained on 12/11/2019. On 12/11/2019 the hotel was full and we offered you a replacement hotel that you accept In addition we took care of your airport / hotel transfer that you refused to pay. You can not ask for a full refund of your stay when you stayed 4 nights in the hotel of replacement that you accepted Your stay in this hotel should not be for free cordially

Service with a smile
This was my second stay at the hotel. The food is good. It is the staff that made the stay nice- service with a smile. Special thanks to Rodrigues, Sorel and Stephanie. The location is also very good- central and close to a supermarket. The drawback of course to being central is the noise from the beeps beeps of the cars. During my stay, there were numerous power failures but the generators kicked in almost immediately every time.

La Falaise is a reliable, consistent stay. Breakfast is good and rooms comfortable, thought small. They've re-done the gym since the last time I stayed and it's lighter and quite nice. Well suited to business trips: internet is reliable. Generally quiet. Fine food menu. Staff is helpful and efficient.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Rooms were clean with good air conditioning. Good location in town for most things. Disappointing bar area (just not as nice as I would have hoped for) but otherwise not much to complain about. Would recommend to others.

Overall stay was mediocre but the disappointment was the quality and finish of the hotel. Really poor quality finishes, extremely cheap roadside loose furniture, terribly small cramped room - just not worth the $180 room rate.

I have been in a couple properties in this price range and this hotel was the best among those. Clean, nice rooms (unlike many in Cameroon, the lighting was nice, the ceiling not too high or too low, AC worked great, nice tv, etc.), and helpful staff even for English-speakers. They will make you eggs if you ask at breakfast. The fitness center has a nice punching bag but only one working treadmill and very light dumbbells, and the AC in the fitness center was broken. Around the corner there is a very nice restaurant and cabaret called Boukarou Lounge. I will stay there again next time

So-so Experience
Small room, low water pressure. Tub had some issues with drainage. Breakfast is mainly Cameroonan. Cereal the only recognizable choice. The doughballs were really good. Burgers did not taste good, though the fries were great. The Pork Mbongo was pretty good. Occasional power outages, short lasting. Cable channels available were few.

The staff at La Falaise are terrific! They did everything they could to make my stay comfortable and productive. The rooms are not very spacious, but they are adequate and clean. I had no complaints and I would definitely stay at La Falaise again.
