"9 Brick Hotel was located in a convenient area in Hongdae, not too far from the subway (approximately a 5-10 minute walk) or the closest airport limo stop, and was close to a subway entrance with an elevator, which was perfect for taking the AREX back to the airport. There was also lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby too, which was great for late night eats and solo dining. The room itself was perfect for one person - plenty of space, clean and had everything one would need. The bathroom was also really nice and spacious with a tub, which isn't commonly found in hotels, but be warned - it is a bit high to step in and out and since there is no shower curtain, it can lead to a bit of a mess in the bathroom after using it. The staff were always welcoming and helpful too, and allowed me to check in early. The area itself was quiet but also had plenty of people around so I felt safe when walking around at night. Overall, a great hotel and I would recommend for solo travellers. "

"Amazing, it’s not luxury at all but very clean, fair price for their locations and they have a wonderful staff. Rooms are really small but just perfect for have a good rest. Only thing I wish is that they had a more foreign friendly breakfast"

"This is the first time that I enter in a room through the toilet and shower, hopefully no friends came in. I stayed at this hotel some days before, and the room was more confortable and nicer. The rate for this room should be lower according to the poor layout. "

"The property: very clean including shared bathroom and shower. There is a smell like other reviewers mentioned but it's subtle. Location: convenient but also very noisy. Music lasted basically all night (with earplugs it's acceptable). Check-in: I wish they send instructions earlier so I don't have to stand in front of the entrance and send passport info, but they respond quickly. Summary: I still think it's a great option for a short stay, especially for the price."

"This hotel has courteous English speaking receptionist. Cool lounge and a great breakfast buffet ( it is more like a brunch buffet with lots of food choices). Rooms are clean with all the amenities you need. And location is unbeatable. Also has a coffee shop on the second floor, Lotteria right next to it and a k-pop store on the first floor. I stayed there with my 15 year old daughter and we loved it. Highly recommend for parents with teens. The only drawback- the street noise can be loud at night so ask for the higher floor."

"This place is old and dirty... nothing like the photos! No heat or fan. I got the suite and it was just awful... a painting that looked like an 8 year old painted it. I think this is more of a love hotel because people kept coming in and out to the door next to ours. Stains on the table and crumbs under sofa cushions. Broken hot tub and broken faucet handle. Walls look faded and dirty. The only good thing was the big tv and the city view... but not worth it. I feel this was a bait and switch. I stayed for two nights. I am never staying here again! "
