"The hotel grounds were lovely with numerous seating areas to relax in. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing and reasonably priced too. The room was as pictured on the website. My only negative would be that the air con in the room was broken and this information was not shared with us when we were shown to the room. Although there was a fan in the room, it was still very hot and uncomfortable in the night."

"The "Classic Single" room was just that. Comfortable bed, modern well-presented ensuite and quiet. Ground-floor room with own access from the street and located in the original coaching inn. Ample parking. Excellent breakfast menu. Prompt and pleasant service."

"This is a beautiful, historic, stone building on the edge of the town centre with its own parking. Ideal for dining out or meeting friends. To the rear is the old abbey gardens and a recreational park. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated with some lovely items and features. However, we did not sleep very well. The whole hotel and our room in particular was very, very warm. Our room was registering 30 degrees when we went to bed. The outside temperature had dropped to 12 degrees but the windows were prevented from opening beyond about 4 inches which was not enough to cool the room down. I tried turning the room thermostat down but it made no difference. All a bit of a shame really as otherwise it was very pleasant stay."

"From the lovely welcome to leaving we could not fault our stay. Staff were fantastic and so friendly. The room was beautiful with lovely products in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The only niggle was the my husband said there was road noise in the early hours of the morning."

"Just got back from a 2 night stay. Absolutely charming place to stay staff were so friendly and helpful. So close to the Center just a brief stroll down the lane would definitely come back to stay again. The dog loved it too"
