「I needed a place near the Saxon sites and Cathedral. And it didn't hurt that the Westgate was just a five minute walk from the rail station. It's an old place, and it had the feel of the ages in the floors and doors. But that was part of the overall experience for me. It had charm. The staff was very accommodating, and I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Westgate. It was all good. And it was across the street from the medieval Westgate to the city as well. I would stay there again if ever...

「The view of Winchester Cathedral from my bedroom was amazing. All of the staff were extremely helpful and positive including promptly resolving air temperature issues in my room. The room was spotlessly clean. But the room felt rather tired with scratched and battered furniture and a dated bathroom. The decor in the bar and restaurant did not reflect the historic location of the building and seemed very generic and unimaginative」

「There is no guest house, it's a scam, fraud, fake. I want my money back! They accept booking, you get confirmation and you don't get room, they don't answer your call. Need to report it to every possible site!」

「Can't give a review as we the taxi driver his sat nav and I could not even find the place, finally got to an address but it was a flat, no reply when we knocked. tried to contact you and place but could not send email for some odd reason. Tried again and again no success. I then had to find another place to stay, thankfully the taxi driver was very helpful, feeling bad for me. Really would think twice about trusting you in future, not a good experience. ...

「Rooms were fine, lots of nice scenic views. Staff were helpful and friendly, wasn't impressed with the food though. The unseasoned steak I ordered didn't see the inside of a frying pan at all and the breakfast was a bit low on the portion side of things considering it was about £11 per person. Lovely IPA on tap at the bar though!」

「Upon arrival, I was initially assigned an occupied room. The place was unstaffed, and the provided phone number was unreachable. I had to ask other guests for an alternative number. I called, texted, and left a WhatsApp message on that number, but received no response for at least an hour.When I finally received a text message with details for a new room, I found the bed was broken and the room was freezing cold. A staff member told me he would come to fix the issue but ultimately never showed...

「Worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Yes it was budget and it was just for an overnight stop in a continuing journey but broken tiles, broken and damaged panels & threadbare curtains. No staff available in the morning to discuss. Just very Delapidated and way past worn out!!」
