"I couldn't possibly say enough positive things about La Bastide and the proprietors. This was an absolute 5-star experience.
We loved the beautiful B&B inn and all the small but elegant details. Breakfast was absolute first-rate (and we are pretty food-centric, and pay attention to quality ingredients ). Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Breakfast dining area was very nice, with wonderful morning light and views over the property. La Bastide has a back patio with a charming French fountain and plentiful seating to enjoy the evening and a glass of wine. You are in the country but just a couple minutes from the downtown strip.
Mark the proprietor was a fount of useful guidance and helped us plan the winery visits and other attractions in the Dundee Hills area. This location is extremely convenient to local Dundee tasting rooms and restaurants as well as just down the road from Newberg and an easy drive to McMinville. I hope to return to the area and would absolutely stay here again."
"The bed and breakfast was a perfect, quiet place for a stay to visit wineries. We had an early half- marathon run the next morning, and they were able to accommodate and give us some breakfast beforehand, and allowed us to check out late after the run. We will absolutely come back!"
"This place was like staying in a prison cell....very bland, very basic, no life, and then to top it off they basically made us clean the entire place for them as the *check out responsibilities*.....and the only AC unit was in the dining room so it doesn't reach the bedrooms...so either you sleep with your door open or have a very uncomfortable sleep"
