"We loved our stay here, it was so near to whitby centre. The room was good, a negative is no where to dry towels. We had to ask for more coffee and sugar, as we were staying three nights. We will recomnend a stay at Penny Hedge. Staff could not do enough for us , all very friendly and polite. We will come again now we know of the hotel . Caroline and Laura were helpful , we rang because we could not quite find your location on our sat nav. staff helped us on this matter and then found you quickley. kind regards to all at penny Hedge. "The property internally is nicely presented. There’s a good fitted kitchen with built in appliances and every item of crockery and kitchen utensil you could think of. The electric recliners were very comfy and there is a modern bathroom with a good shower. The property was very clean and nicely presented. The negatives are that the access is poor. Although it’s the norm for Whitby the access is much steeper than we expected and the nearest parking is quite a walk away. 100% not wheelchair accessible and would be very difficult with a pram. The adjoining property is scruffy with rubbish etc in the garden and access to the house is through the neighbours garden. Not ideal and made us feel uncomfortable pushing past their washing to get to the house. The views across the roof tops towards the harbour are amazing. But, below the house are some scruffy flats and we observed a man allowing his dog to poo all over the patio every day and never picked it up. Not pleasant. The bed in the big front bedroom wasn’t very comfortable. The lack of a garden was also a shame. "
