It was annoying to get to the motel and then find we had to walk 150m down the road to another motel to check in. This seems to be a permanent set up. Also only one pillow per head and flat pillows at that. Very clean.

There was nothing we liked about this property. There were trails of ants in the Kitchen we didnt have much food but in our bag where we had crackers chocolates nibbles etc there were many ants The bed was not comfortable linen was clean bed well made. Bathroom had alot of black mould in different areas. Only one chair to sit on at table an armchair very grubby.This is an honest opinion from an x Motel owner.We would not stay or recommend the Motor Lodge or stay ourselves again

The location situated close to the local settlers museum where we wished to visit, the beach and supermarkets all within walking distance. The motel itself presented well form the outside, inviting and old world. It was a reasonably comfortable stay though we found the beds uncomfortable and facilities in need of an upgrade.

I didn't expect there is no stove in the kitchen, it is a motel, there should be a stove, but there is nothing. One of the pillows was used, we found a hair on it. Heater in the shower is not working at all, The other heater in the room was weak, we asked for more blankets, He brought something I don't know what they call and it was disgusting. we didn't use it, we slept with our clothes adding another layer to it. Oh, by the way, there is no Reception in this motel, Yes, no reception. In order to check in, you need to go another motel close to this one. Wiered. 2 chairs there, both were dirty, I think they found it in the street.

The place felt abandoned. No reception at the property. Had to drive further up the road to a partner motel. Glad I didn’t arrive late as that motels reception closed at 9:00 pm. When I did check in there was no one at reception office. Had too wander around the complex and eventually fund a house maid. Not keen on re booking there.

The room was overwhelmed by an extremely pungent scent from some perfume sticks. It was so strong it felt like my lungs were burning. I had to air out the room for two hours before being able to relax. The beds, fittings and seats are all worn - to be honest they are beyond their life and need updating. The bed is actually concaved. Cleanliness was not good with signs of previous guests visible - hair and dirty kitchen floor. All the aluminium joinery needs new seals with sound and breeze coming through. To make matters worse, the cupboard which holds an ironing board and iron had a ceiling panel missing inside it - which allows air and a breeze to push and pull the cupboard door. Compared to other places I have stayed it was disappointing. To top it off it took me hours to settle down and ultimately meant I didn’t start the next day rested. The only aspect that was ok were the walls had been recently painted. I can’t recommend this property at the moment - the staff I met though were lovely and professional, it’s just a shame the property is so tired and not what I would expect - even for the price.

Absolutely filthy. Mould in bathroom, stains in cups, tea towels were brown, over powering essential oils used to cover up musty smell. Stains on furniture. When I pulled back the covers to get into one of the beds there was little bits of hair through it!! Beds not even made for ‘room service’ covers just pulled up. No one on site to even complain to. Keys had been to be picked up from a motel down the road. Give this place a wide berth!!!

Close to ferry terminal. Didn’t like having to walk to another motel to get keys. No drop book on site - was told to leave keys in room. Only two towels - but three guests. Floors were sticky. Carpet needs a clean. No aircon in unit - only a heater that we didn’t feel comfortable leaving on all night. No forks.

Started off as a less than excellent experience, having to walk down the road to another motel to pick up my key for check in. What I found in the room was well below expectations. A quick bathroom stop revealed pubic hairs on the toilet, urine on the seat and the floor, and sticky lino floors in the kitchen and bathroom. A rotten and mouldy shower door really added to the experience. At bed time I found my pillow case was very dirty with black marks on it. Slept with the pillow in a shirt to keep my face off it. Clearly couldnt call reception as this wasnt even on site. Pretty poor. I dont expect much from cheap accommodation but a clean room is a must, no matter the price point. Do not stay here.

I left motel earlier than booked. This motel is operated drom another nearby motel. There is no office on site. Emailed owner and got no reply

Liked that it was close to where car was parked and shops. We stayed in the room next door 2 weeks ago which was clean and tidy so booked for our return trip this last weekend. The room we were given was disgusting! Dirty, broken mirror no spare TP, shower door Coudy with calcium build up, sticky microwave, wet dishes in cupboard, broken hot point in lounge, no bedside lamps, generally poor even after cleaners were called back! Disappointing as enjoy the disposition of the place. In covid times cleanliness should be paramount!

Just the fact when you turn up, to then see a sign which says you need to visit another motel a couple of doors down the road to collect your key was frustrating, especially at the end of a business day with a number of hours drive involved. While the room was 'clean and tidy' it was very dated, and just did not quite give that relaxation feeling you hope for at the end of the day.......no corkscrew for wine bottle either.

Very disappointing. Went to check in (you need to do this via a motel half a block away - there is no reception on site) Was given key to room - got there and opened door to a wall of cigarette stink, unmade beds and trash on kitchenette bench. Took key back to reception and asked for another room - explained the situation. Reception staff told me “no that’s not the case” and then took the key they’d given me and just wandered off - turns out to go and check for themself. Then returned 10 minutes later

This Motel is tired and old. It needs total refurbishment. I wish i had read the reviews before booking it. Apparently it has been in this condition for years, and nothing is being done. It is a 2 star motel and they ask far too much per night. My advise is, don't stay here. We stayed 2 nights and on the last night had no hot water for showers in the morning. The one good thing, the bed. Very Comfortable.

The description of the room we booked through Expedia was misrepresented - there was no stove top & the room was extremely shabby with badly stained chairs that I really didn't wish to sit in & wires coming out of the wall - the whole room looked nasty & needed updating! The online pictures are very misleading & I admit I was shocked when I saw the reality! We had to go to The DuPont Motel to book in to The Settlers & after complaining to staff about the state of our room & the misleading list of amenities online, they gave me a room at the The DuPont instead which only had one bed instead of the two I needed & had paid for (I was accompanied by my adult son), also we had a very bad ant infestation so the kitchenette was teeming with ants & they even traveled along another wall & into the bed - my son woke up with ants on his face & in his beard! The staff came late at night after I called to complain again (as no-one had arrived to deal with the problem earlier as requested) & sprayed the ants with a very strong insecticide which left my son gasping for breath & enduring asthma attacks.... I had advised them he was asthmatic but they ignored me. All in all we had 3 days of sleepless misery & the staff were largely unavailable (due to the looming lock down). The office was more often than not closed & when I did get hold of them they were not very helpful or receptive. A request for compensation has been rejected and no responsibility taken by management!

The room was very clean and comfortable and quiet. The motel was very conveniently situated for where we wanted to go. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
