The Goodwood Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We celebrated our anniversary at the Goodwood hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The weather was very hot & sunny, but despite the heat in the reception and dining areas, the staff remained cheery and helpful. (The bedrooms are Air conditioned!) We enjoyed a drink outside at the Bar & Grill and felt that this could have been a little more attractive, but it certainly didn't spoil our afternoon."

"For what I needed, a quick stopover, it did the job but there were a few things that could have been done to improve the stay! The room (# 400) had an overpowering smell of cigarette smoke when I entered and not being a smoker it was very off putting. I opened both the bedroom and bathroom windows, put the fan on and went out for an hour. When I came back the smell wasn't quite as bad but as a non-smoker, it was still a strong smell. The room itself was a little tired with broken cupboard draws. It obviously hadn't been thoroughly checked over from the previous tenants because there were 2 beers in one of the draws leftover from a strip of 4 but hay-ho, bonus for me! A hairdryer and electric sockets near the bed would have been nice but that's just me being picky The location was good with the beach and shops only a short walk away. Parking was on the street outside the hotel and it was first come first served although it was free between 8pm and 9am. Look, when all said and done, I stayed here for a quick stopover and it did the job. If thats all your looking for then yes, go for it, it's a cheap stay and does the job but for any longer, I probably wouldn't stay here. "

"DO NOT BOOK TO STAY HERE. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. Not one aspect. Extortionate. Price and picture on site, do not match at all! The room, was dingy, dirty, unkept and the drain smelt. lots of things were broken, dented and looked unfinished. It looked like a bad case of DIY mishaps, including the smell. Check in was not seamless and received 7 emails from the hotel in the space of 20 mins! I reported the one light in our room as broken, flashing on and off, ( faulty wiring) you could see it. None of my messages were responded too! We have taken pictures/videos. On at least 2 occasions they broke health & safety. No working fire alarm and a discarded mattress and frame in the hallway at the top of the stairs, blocking part of the access route. If there was other availability in other hotels we would've left but had no choice to stay. One couple in the hall were having troubles checking in, and could not get a response from the whatsapp line. This hotel should not be on the market to book. Hotels.com need to VET this property."

"An excellent dog friendly hotel in Worthing. Friendly staff and a good welcome on check-in. Big, comfortable and clean room. Huge bar and dining area with great choice of food and drinks - breakfast was very tasty. Right by Worthing station but no noise from trains. Good central location, 5-10 minutes from a park to walk the dogs, and 10-15 minutes to walk to the beach. Pay and display car park 100 yds from the hotel. Highly recommended."
