Beautiful. Would stay again

Absolutely beautiful hotel. In China 5 star doesn’t always mean 5 star but this resort was absolutely clean, modern, and beautiful. We only stayed here for 1 night on a road trip from Haikou to Sanya and it was one of our favorite resorts.

总体来说威斯汀度假酒店符合豪华酒店的配置，房间很大，浴室也很宽敞，床很舒适，虽然不是智能马桶，但是清洁程度令人满意。另外让人感到安慰的就是早餐很丰盛，作为一个豪华酒店，基本符合住客对其的要求。

When I got to my room, I was SO happy!  Baron Liu at the front desk was a gem and the room was delightful – on the first floor and right at pool level so my patio opened up to the pool and I could hop right in!  The bed, of course, was heavenly and the room was spacious and clean.  The staff at the Lobby Lounge were polite and accommodating and got to know me because of my daily coffee and snack visits.  The beach is clean and the beach chairs and towels numerous.  They have a small roped off swimming area on the beach. However, the pool was excellent, and I chose to stay there because it was nearly empty every day!  They have a small drinks/ice cream bar at the pool which was nice for refreshments.  The nightly buffet on the lawn was good but got a bit old after 3 nights.  Perhaps changing up the variety of food would make it more attractive.  They have a western restaurant and of course, the Lobby Lounge.  They also have two Chinese restaurants that catered more to families/big groups – not great for a solo traveler.  For such a huge resort, I would expect more food options.  My favorite part of my trip was my visit to the Heavenly Spa where Amy Long took amazing care of me!  I highly recommend this hotel and plan on visiting again!

很糟糕的入住体验

好的：硬件不错，很新，3人间的别墅每个卧室都很大。酒店位置不错。 差的：真的不懂以前spg旗下的威斯汀服务怎么这么差。写的3点入住，3点左右到的酒店，本想睡个午觉，没想到等了整整两个小时等到5点过才住进去。期间问了两次，还都是我主动打电话去问的，5点了酒店也并没有告知我可以住，真的是服了。办理入住的前台小妹业务相当不熟悉，开始说有早餐，过了一个小时又打电话说没早餐，耍猴吗？房间距离酒店大堂很远，同行的有3个老年人，要求酒店用摆渡车送到房间，却被告知摆渡车的下班了，5点就不服务了？？晚上9点过要求送一些洗浴用品，送了快一个小时才送过来，期间打电话催了2次。这就是威斯汀的服务水平？？真的是太气人了。服务一星都不想给。折腾过去折腾过来整得心情都不好了。整个期间远不如我原来订的酒店。 总结：很糟糕的入住体验，下次也不会住了。

Great for a laid back vacation.

Unfortunately I was sick the whole time here. Due to a foul up with the shuttle from Sanya airport they upgraded my room to oceanfront and it was beautiful! The hotel was well designed and the room fantastic. Make sure you have google translate on your phone as most of the staff speak very little English. Right on a lovely beach with warm water and clean sand. The hotel is a little remote from any city life, but that was what I wanted. Be aware that China heavily censors the internet!

Great service

Great overall trip. Very attentative staff, very good breakfast, good beach, plenty of facilities and some activities. Great gym and pools. Was there during low season and some construction was ongoing. OK prices in the restraunts, but not cheap. Not too much to do in the surrounding area, but very relaxing, especially for families or a quiet vacation. Mostly local tourists.

Winter in Shimei Wan

Although we don’t speak Chinese some of the staff spoke enough English for us to get by. Hotel is well designed very quiet, clean and well maintained. Rooms are spacious with excellent amenities. Plenty to do even if the weather is not great as it was for the first three days of our stay. They have a daily list of activities from cycling to cocktail making classes which guests can participate in at no extra cost. Breakfast and restaurant options were quite good although maybe not up to claimed five star rating. Area around the hotel is largely undeveloped but there is a fair amount of construction underway with apartment blocks and a local shopping centre just opened. Travel to hotel is an hour by taxi from Sanya (350-400RMB) or hotel supplied free shuttle (specified times) which takes about 2 hours. Good beaches for a swim or surf (water temp 24C) with several accessible breaks within walking distance although beach directly out front of hotel was closed for water activities our entire stay due to dangerous surf (Chinese standards for hazardous surf are slightly different to ours). Pool was fantastic although not many guests used it as water temp was a chilly 18C. There is an Olympic sized indoor pool which was a better option for the temperature conscious. Great gym with good selection of machines and free weights. Overall a highly enjoyable stay for our family and an experience we will be talking about for a while.

Friendly and relaxing atmosphere

All members of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Great interior swimming pool, long enough to train and looks very clean. Exterior swimming pools: the adult one big enough and interesting shape, the children one was also interesting and had slides. Inside the hotel there is also playground zone with learning centres. We ate all our meals at the hotel. It offered enough varieties for our 2 weeks stay; some delicious and colourful meals. Again the staff was very professional. One of the restaurant had a play zone for the children. End Nov., early Dec. was quite quiet, no crowd anywhere. Tennis court always available.

總體不錯，但仍有提高的地方

住宿方面：我住在2樓山景房，房間有明顯潮味，聞了兩天也習慣了；朋友住在5樓的海景，潮味沒那麼重，但也能明顯聞到。酒店才開業5個月，房間木制品較多，不知道跟裝修味和木味所導致有沒有關係。房間走道上有見到過一隻已死的小蟑螂和在行走的大蟑螂，酒店要加強殺蟲和清潔衛生。 飲食方面：在品味、大堂酒廊和西餐廳都吃過飯，廣東菜不是很好吃（我生活在香港，跟香港的廣東菜相比），川菜和早餐不錯。到晚上大堂的酒廊很開揚，眼前就是大海，月光下喝酒聊天非常贊。房間沒有免費水果，我也沒有問，但是之前去三亞的麗思卡爾頓酒店、博鰲中遠酒店都有提供，酒店不一樣是沒有可比性，但是有提供就更好了。 服務方面：服務總體都很到位，去了發現威斯汀沒有spa，找到了就在旁邊的艾美有spa，不知道是不是因爲是同集團，兩邊的禮賓部都提供電平車來回接送，省下大中午走路，路途不遠但畢竟中午真的會很曬嘛，很感謝他們的安排。
