Overall we really loved our stay at Wakkanai. our highlight of the stay was the laid back feel of the Onsen providing views of russia and the soya straight
We had an unplanned one night stay in Wakkanai due to a storm... the Dormy Inn was ideal. Great onsen and very helpful staff. We would stay again... highly recommend.
The hotel is very near JR Wakkanai Station so this makes it very convenient to go Cape Soya and Cape Noshappu and eating places. The best thing about this hotel is the seafood bowl breakfast and the onsen with an open air one available. Would stay here again if ever I visit Wakkanai
What a highlight of our trip to be at the Top of Japan and greeted by Snow in early April. Hotel was an easy walk from the train station and offered a map with a variety of restaurants with hours of operation listed too. Breakfast was scheduled earlier due to the train schedule which was most helpful. Thank you Dormy Inn for your hospitality.
The hotel is showing a little wear around the edges, but the view from the public baths on the roof can't be beat. Also very close to the train station and next to a great soup curry place! Would stay there if I ever make the long trip to Wakkanai again. :)
Lovely and comfortable stay - breakfast was worth the extra fee, boasting a bountiful buffet of fresh sashimi, delicious side dishes, comforting soups and freshly-cooked rice in addition to other usual fare like bread, yoghurt and fruits. Rooms were on the small side, but perfectly serviceable. The public baths are fantastic, and there are 3 washers + 3 dryers per gender in the public bath area. There’s also free ice cream and yoghurt drinks for after your bath, be it morning/night!
Location is just a short walk away from the JR station/bus terminal, and throwing distance from 3 car rental agencies. It’s a 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal, but in the early AM (when the first ferry leaves), it’s a nice walk in summer.
Love the Dormy Inn series, would always come back!
It is walking distance from JR station and bus station , since I went in winter , there s not much things open around which is very normal. the staffs are nice , there s always hot coffee available in the lobby , and free soup noodles in night time for snacks.
