"This motel is absolutely disgusting. on check in, found the spare toilet roll covered in urine and blood on the floor. after speaking to the owner (who offered to re-clean the room, it was decided that this motel was unfit for use. our rep ended up not staying and checked into another motel. we are requesting a full refund. i would never allow someone to stay in this motel. yes we have photos."

"This is a hidden gem of Oamaru. It’s a renovated hotel of yesteryear. Rooms renovated, bathrooms new. We sat by the gas fire in the lounge area in the evening and enjoyed a continental breakfast in the front room in the morning. The ambience is lovely with old world charm. Staff are excellent. We would stay again when in town, that’s the best recommendation that you can give."

"What a disgrace of a business!! Upon arrival, we couldn't get anyone to answer the door. I saw a notice on one of the doors that said call this number for assistance, so did that, and it went to voicemail. We were outside in -3 deg weather for 3 quarters of an hour trying to get in. Staff were not hospitable at all, acted like we were an inconvenience, and that's putting it mildly. Room was freezing cold with an ineffective wall heater that did nothing. Bed was hard as the floor, and one cotton sheet with an equally thin blanket, not appropriate for the time of the year, we had to go to bed fully clothed. Not good enough for what we paid, in fact I want a refund. The worst place I have ever stayed ! "
