Lakeshor Motor Inn

10/10 Excellent

"The welcome gifts of 2 water bottles and snacks were a nice surprise. Large room with two beds and bathroom with lots of counter space and separate toilet/tub area was great. The lake was behind my hotel section - easy walk to benches to enjoy the view. Grocery store and gas station were nearby to get ready quickly to leave for home. Only issue was no restaurant nearby."

"Parking was easy and right outside our room. The fridge/freezer was actually cold, which isn't always the case! Beds and pillows were very comfortable, but would have been nice to have a clock in the room. Also would have appreciated some directions for the cooling system. It's very conveniently located right on the main street in town. Edie, the owner, is very friendly and welcoming. "

"The place was very nice and clean, but my room was very very tiny. It would be a okay room for one person but you would not want to put two people in their. Still it was a very friendly place and Shauna who I think is the owner was very helpful. Expedia screwed up my brothers reservation and I had to find him a place at another hotel and Shauna was a big help in accommodating our needs there. I would stay at the canoe on in again if I were by myself. Although I will say Shauna told me that they had much bigger rooms in their other building across the street."

"I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at Northwoods Inn. It was clean & well maintained. The people at the front desk were very friendly. The room was spacious. Everything worked well from the a/c to the mini fridge. It was clean, as was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. I just wish there was an elevator, as I was on the 2nd floor. The parking lot had plenty of spaces. The location was convenient to the grocery store across the street. Northwoods is just a short drive to Ely’s restaurants. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Northwoods Inn."

"It's an older motel, but don't judge the motel by it's cover. The people I had contact with sere wonderful. The room clean and quiet. However, there is no phone in the room or the bathroom shampoo, lotion, etc. that you normally expect to find. I had to go ask for a hair dryer. Their continental breakfast is what you would expect too; the usual packaged pastry products & coffee. Considering how expensive lodging is in that area, it was a good choice for me. I can live without the extra frills."
