We enjoyed our stay at Four Sails. It is dated but our room was clean and comfortable. View from the large balcony is great. The only problem we had was that the wifi was so weak that you really couldn’t use it. Also the water from the bathroom sink constantly ran and could not be stopped.

The room was not in as good of condition as we would have liked—paint was chipped, appliances rusted, ceilings stained, etc. however the balcony was nice with a great ocean view. The other guests were very friendly and the beach access was perfect!

Property located at the better part of Virginia beach, so the area is good. However, this hotel is outdated. Pool is very small, and located on the 4th floor for some reason, right next to the rooms. So, the noise of kids screaming at the pool every day can be very annoying if you're staying on the 4th floor.

Great location, property is good for families as it has a full kitchen. It’s basic but at the beach you just need a property that is clean and in a good location. The mattress could definitely use updating. The fresh popcorn is a nice touch. There was an issue with my unit leaking down into the unit below while I was in the bath and maintenance had entered my unit . It could have been handled better instead of pounding on the bathroom door.

I loved this hotel. Carly, Nathan and Johanna were wonderful hosts that I met. Randy in maintenance stopped what he was in the middle of for a silly TV question and came right over. Location- can’t be beat- steps from the beach (literally 20 steps- no need to bring a beach cart.) Live music at night daily in both directions. We had king bed in one room with sofa bed in living room (turns into full size.) perfect for 2 adults & 1-2 children. Laundry room(cheap), sauna, indoor pool, balcony, full kitchen with stove, full size fridge/full size freezer. What more could you need?

We have stayed at The Four Sails every time we have visited Va. Beach and that's been on and off for 30 years now. We love the location and every room is ocean front. The property has made improvements in that time, but it still has a long way to go. The staff has always been courteous. The couch was comfy to sit on. There's the positives in my review. The replacement flooring that replaced the carpet the room once had already shows it's age and needs replacing. Chips, scratches and buckling. The carpet in the rest of the room needs replacing. It's old and shows it's age. Two of the three faucets constantly leaked. This was brought the the attention of the front desk upon checkout where they immediately informed maintenance. All the metal blinds have rust and our bedroom sliding door would not lock. The tub had sand in it from the previous occupant and all mirrors needed a good cleaning. Our slider in the bedroom needed the glass cleaned also. Corners of the room needed a good cleaning. There's always a bunch of materials sitting in a spot not far from the main entrance in the garage. Which you don't have to pay to park in by the way. You couldn't get a car in there, but it's unsightly and usually has leaves and dirt in it and can be a hazard trying to walk around. They don't enforce the handicap parking. They have it, but it seems anyone can park there. Over all the room looked tired and that's a shame. It has my wife wanting to try somewhere else next time.

Booked a King oceanfront and got a Queen instead. My wife wears a cpap and we need the extra room. Very uncomfortable 3 night stay! The bedroom faced the street, not the ocean as promised. So much for watching the sunrise in bed as this was the reason we booked this room. We booked this months in advance. We were told at the front desk multiple times that someone would contact us regarding the problem. We were never contacted. The place is dirty and in need of repair. Cigarette burns on the tub, contantly running water in the tub, dishwasher door slams open with a broken spring, floors are tarnished and worn.

Overall Great Stay

Queen bed was comfy and the pullout mattress did great for our 2 young kids. Loved the double balcony and the big jacuzzi tub. 33rd st cafe is convenient and has nice staff and good food. Front desk and staff at hotel are friendly and also allowed us to check in early. Kitchen was basically fully accommodating but someone left old food in the oven. Ice machine didn’t make any ice but we just got some from the big machines in the hallway. Overall Great Stay!
