Unfortunately, this was one of the worst stays we have experienced. The greeting we received upon arrival was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. Instead of feeling welcomed as guests, we felt uncomfortable and disrespected by the way the staff treated us. A stay should begin with basic courtesy, professionalism, and a clean, welcoming environment. Sadly, we experienced none of that here. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this place and would not stay here again.

There were roaches in the coffee making area in the room, large gaps at every window between the blinds edge of the window itself causing a privacy issue, older underpowered mini split units that did not cool down the room. To top it off, owner kept an unprofessional appearance with his opened buttoned shirt despite my wife being in the area from the moment we arrived.

Place was supper dirty, roaches all over, toilets disgusting, I don’t usually give reviews but this property deserved, attached some pictures, I’m not exaggerating was bad! They need good deep cleaning the beds wasn’t comfy at all, the good thing the sheets smell clean but that’s it. And all the places same like similar prices, go other one!

I absolutely loved the upstairs room we had! It felt like a little apartment more than anything. We had space to spread out and not feel cramped like in other hotels we stayed in PR. There are so many cute beach details in the room that I felt like vacay had officially started. The hotel owner was very helpful and nice. We loved our stay. Even though you have to walk 5 mins to the nearest restaurant, it’s totally worth it! We will stay here when we come back to Vieques!

Staying with Skip and company at Casa de Tortuga was delightful. We loved our apartment with three bedrooms. It was in a nicely walkable location and close to all the attractions of La Esperanza. The pool area was beautiful and well maintained and a cool refreshing dip helped us wind down after a hot day. In addition to the loaner beach equipment, Skip gave us great advice on beaches to go to and things to do. I can’t wait to go back!

The room was very clean, the hotel was very easy to find and had everything we needed. Chip was very hospitable and the hotel is a quick walk to restaurants. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night. We will definitely be coming back to Vieques and plan on staying here again.

Skip, the proprietor, is fantastic and has built and runs a wonderful establishment. The Yacht Suite was perfect for our family of 5. He also allowed us to drop our bags near the pool the last day, so we could explore the local beaches for a few more hours. Highly recommend!
