Walk along the Via del Babuino, a famous street connecting Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps. Find luxury items, including jewelry, fashionable clothing, shoes and accessories. Join a guided walking tour of Rome’s famous attractions, including the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.

Visit one of Rome’s finest shopping districts and walk to some of the city’s famous attractions. Find an ancient statue depicting Silenus reclining, located in the middle of Via del Babuino. Curiously, local residents regard this statue as either a masterpiece or an eyesore.

Rome’s landmark square, the Piazza del Popolo, is located at one end of Via del Babuino. This large urban square is a historic meeting place. Notice the ancient obelisk from Heliopolis, Egypt. This monument dates back to the 13th century B.C. The Fontana del Nettuno (Neptune Fountain) glistens on the western end of the square.

Reach the 18th-century Spanish Steps at the southern end of the street. Francesco De Sanctis designed these steps, which became a popular meeting place for artists and poets in the 1900s. Notice the Fontana della Barcaccia, a beautiful fountain at the base of the steps, depicting a half-sunken ship.

Tour the historic sites surrounding the Via del Babuino. Guided walking tours of this area may include visits to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona. The Pantheon is a famous 2nd-century building dedicated to the worship of every god and the Trevi Fountain is one of the most beautiful fountains in Rome, built in the grand Rococo style.

Get off the metro at the Spagna or Flaminio stops to reach Via del Babuino. This street is a great place to begin a day shopping and exploring the ancient city. Luxury suites and smaller hotel rooms are also available if you wish to stay in this area.

Take a short walk from Via del Babuino to the Villa Borghese public gardens. Along the way, enjoy traditional Italian gelato from one of the many kiosks.
