Unfortunately let down by staff approach and cleanliness; we have cancelled our booking for next week. On arrival we were told to to return in 40 minutes when check-in started (we were allowed to park though), the hotel was not at all busy. We were told at check in that parking would only be available for part of our stay - when I asked where we could park (all streets seemed to need a parking permit) I was told to use Google, no help at all. The room was spacious but dated and in need of a deep clean; several issues in the bathroom, blood stain on the spare pillow and a tacky kitchenette floor ... we daren't look any deeper. A shame, the hotel has so much potential but needs someone that cares about it and its customers. We would not recommend English Bay Hotel and would not return.

Clean and relatively comfortable. Everything you need for an overnighter. I wouldn’t stay any longer than that. Close to English Bay beach and heaps of eats.

The property was clean and comfortable. The property was in a nice location, within walking distance from Stanley Park, English Bay Beach, and Granville and Robson. There were a lot of shopping and dining options nearby. The property is on a main street, and it could get loud at night, making it difficult to sleep.

The young man that checked us in was very friendly and efficient. Handled the overflow of customers very well! The location is prime and the view from the room is phenomenal!

Property is old and worn down. They say parking is available but it will only fit a car and not trucks. Very hard to find parking around downtown. We had to park and walk with our suitcases to the hotel. Staff was friendly. Location was right down town. Very noisy for sleeping. Not worth $250 per night

Great stay for the money we paid. The kitchen was missing exhaust, and not fully stocked with cuttlery. Washroom aslo had no exhaust. Other than that, amazing space and great location

Central location at English Bay was convenient for walks along seawall and Stanley Park, close to shops in the area, Robson Street, and downtown, and good variety of nearby restaurants. The room was comfortable and clean upon arrival, but although the hotel information stated that rooms were cleaned daily, the room was not cleaned, even though the card was placed on the doorknob requesting that service, and no clean towels were provided, from April 28 check-in until May 3, the day before check-out, and only after a message was sent to the hotel requesting fresh towels and that the room be cleaned.

The chinese man at the front desk was super nice. My concern is only with the property. I think it’s too old and outdated. Carpet and furnitures needs to be replaced. Are is noisy given it is in english bay. But again the old man in the front desk is helpful, smiling and warm

The room is dated and there is abit of smell in the halls and rooms. The room is otherwise clean and includes a kitchen. I had no issues with mice and bugs that other people mentioned. The front staff were friendly. For the price the room is more than adequate. The location is outstanding. Two blocks from the beach. I would stay again.

Great spot to stay. Close to bus stops. Heaps of food choices. Supermarkets close. Beach over the way with beautiful sunsets. Beds were comfy. Shower was good. Kitchen had what we needed. Hallway was a bit smelly and hotel out dated in general but great location.

The outside of the hotel doesn’t look very nice but our room was extra clean a very big. The fridge and the microwave didn’t work. But for the price it was super good. Walking distance to the beach, park and restaurants. I recommend it.

The property is in an excellent location but is badly in need of updating, the decor is of the seventies, New beds are a must and towels are well worn. It's a pity that the hotel has not been updated as it's location is top notch

I stayed here in early March for five nights. I had a nice view of the bay in a spacious room for an affordable price. It's a budget hotel so I wasn't expecting turn-down service or chocolates on my pillows. My stay was quiet and the west end was super chill with a cornucopia of restaurants and cuisines in almost every direction from the front of the hotel. I will stay here again and recommend this place to the budget-minded and unpretentious.

This hotel needs urgent big maintenance; the carpets through hallways are very dirty and smell; lights need improvement; the rooms are big and comfortable but old and broken. Location is excellent and in a pretty place. The parking access is very narrow and unsafe, and even the stalls are too narrow. Also, access to parking is very difficult.
