I arrived at 2pm to check in and found incredibly noisy construction work. The workmen had to actually find someone who worked for the hotel, (he was probably hiding from the noise!)This took about 10 minutes during which time I was subjected to screamingly loud grating, the sound of metal being cut. Horrendous noise and right below the room they were about the check me into! I had ironically requested a 'quiet room' and the hotel had decided not to warn me in advance of the construction on the ground floor of the hotel right below the room I would be given?! I think this shows a serious lack of integrity! I asked why they had not told me, the answer was 'oh, it only takes place from about 12 to about 5 pm'. I'm not sure what the 'about' meant but that is a significant part of the day to warn people coming to stay in advance before they arrive. The receptionist said if I wanted to cancel I didn't have to pay, they have however still charged me in full it seems?! I intend to try to get them to honour their word. The pool is VERY small, I think some clever photography has been used to make it look much larger than it actually is. Lots of large lizards running around the pool and jumping in it so if you don't like wildlife I wouldn't stay here. Good luck if you choose this place, I would not recommend it. It is tiny, like a homestay, claustrophobic almost. So noise, especially grinding metal is not exactly easy to just 'zone out' from!
