Great for family and nice view of ricefields ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's really great choice to spend the night here. The staffs are friendly. One of the staff, Mr. Widi really helpful and we are really grateful. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. We slept comfortably. There are two big swimming pool. Our favorite pool is next to the restaurant. The view is amazing. So we are gonna stay there in the next holidays. Thank you for Amatara Agung Raka hospitality.

First impressions hide flaws
First impressions were good, staff were always friendly. Place could do with a lot of maintenance, paint is peeling in the hallways, the rooms have dust in the corners and the bathrooms are very average which explains the lack of photos featured when advertising the place. We used the laundry service and the clothes were returned damp and as such my partners white t shirt was ruined with bright pink splotches from pink clothes placed on top of it. I understand this is a third party service but still, not good enough, it’s basic. I also left my expensive headphones on the couch in the room but for some reason the hotel couldn’t find them when I called about them. Wouldn’t stay here again which is a shame as it has a lovely pool and the people were friendly but is let down in a big way by these few things.

Great location but in need of refurbishment
The staff at the hotel were lovely, very friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is a little run down. When I arrived I immediately upgraded to a better room as the basic ones are in a need of refurbishment. The pool area is nice but does not get much sun and is a little disrupted by the building site next door.

Misled with regard to the garden villas. bathroom was downstairs, and stairs extremely steep. Also was meant to be 2 single beds in the room, however they pushed a single bed into the room up against a queen bed, leaving absolutely no room to move. Under different circumstances this room could have been okay as it still presented as a clean and traditional bali hut. We then downgraded to the resort accomodation of which the bathroom was disgusting. I cleaned the shower myself just so it would work properly. With all this said however, we loved our stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the grounds and serenity were beautiful!

Amazing sanctuary!
I booked Agung Raka to be close to ARMA for Bali Spirit Festival. Wow, what a treat! I stayed in a ground floor garden villa and it was a great home away from home. Initially I booked 4 nights but extended extra nights to spend nyepi there. The rooms are set amongst tropical gardens right back away from the main road. When you check in the hotel staff drive you in a golf buggy to your room. The restaurant serves all day - I arrived at 330pm from the Gili islands and was so happy they served a nasi goreng and mango smoothie. The food is a little more money than you'll pay out in the street but I was happy to pay more (still very cheap) for the convenience. The pool is quite spectacular - sort of like an infinity pool with tropical gardens as the backdrop. The room is spacious with a big bed. Air con and wifi worked well. There are a lot of mosquitos so make sure you apply repellant. The restaurant burns coils too. The bathroom smelt some days - that would be the only downer but it wasn't so bad - this is Bali and for the price, this gorgeous property is excellent value. Chatting with other guests, we all shared the same view - amazing place and value for money. I am a female solo traveller and really enjoyed my peaceful stay here. Thank you :-)

A sanctuary in the heart of Ubud.
I spent the the month of February 2017 at Agung Raka and had an amazing stay. The staff were incredible, welcoming and helpful. Daily breakfast was delicious. The resort is located in the heart of Ubud with many wonderful restaurants just steps away along with convenient stores, shopping and a laundry service. I received timely airport shuttle service as well as a daily shuttle service to the market. It was truly amazing to step off the busy streets into the peaceful rice fields and beautiful gardens of Agung Raka. I highly recommend this resort.

Peaceful stay in good location
Our pool villa was beautiful. It was surrounded by lush, green rice fields - stunning scenery to wake up to. It was still within walking distance to everything in Ubud although the rooms/villas were set back off the main street making it a quiet stay - you wouldn't have known you were close to a busy road.

Nice Hotel in a good location
We stayed in a villa with a garden view. The accommodations were very nicely decorated in a Bali style with plenty of private open-air space. Hotel stuff was very helpful, they did everything to make us feel welcome. We had one dinner in the hotel restaurant, the food was quite good and prices are very reasonable. All in all we had quite a pleasant stay.

Very good
Very large room, comfortable bed, mini fridge stocked with water and pop (Pop costs money) air conditioner worked well, wifi progressively got better and better (it was like every place we stayed in Bali) there were two pools pool were very beautiful, the landscape was very well kept, the area is perfect because you can easily walk to the two biggest attractions in Ubud; the monkey Forest and the markets (it's about a 10 minute walk) or get their free shuttle to drive you and pick you up but only at certain time, the restaurant there was quite quite and fairly priced, my only complaint is that a lot of bugs were able to get into our room from this break in the window (not sure why they would build it like this) it's right in the bathroom so there were lots of Mosquitos and geckos in the bathroom, not the biggest deal considering you are in Bali and there's a bug sheet that covers the entire bed so you don't get bit when you're sleeping, also the water would randomly turn off, it happened about 5 times (some when we were showering) just wait a little bit and then the nozzle off then back on, annoying but it would only stay off for like 1-3 minutes. Other then that it was an awesome Hotel and you can't beat the price!

This is a great place IF you get a good room cheap. Girlfriend and I are 25 and have stayed in some terrible places as backpackers. + Close to everything. Nice pool. - We first stayed in the corner superior room the room was nice, bathroom old but not too dirty. Ac worked and bed was ok. then after 3 days they moved us to another "superior room" this room stank of mould from the ac that didn't work but had dropped mouldy water down the wall. When we asked if there were any other rooms they told us they were full except for the villas at 3x the price despite wotif saying they had another 5 superior rooms available and there were only a few other guests we saw over the 3 days. Aka the up sell. Did not appreciate that. IMO The superior rooms aren't worth more than 50 a night if you pay more you'll be sorely disappointed with the room the service and the experience. otherwise if you luck out at 50 a night and get a decent room you'll have a blast!

The swimming pools were lovely and you can take a swim anytime of the day or night! The breakfast wasn't worth getting up for - not a big selection. The hotel grounds are lovely and have a litre buggy to take you around. The staff - beware! Do not buy trips or boat services from them! They over charge and give you the wrong information - they are known for this but we wasn't aware. The location is good, lovely place to eat just down the road called Buddha bowl. Also walking distance to monkey forest which is worth a visit!

Get a private rice field view villa! Beautiful....
We got there hot and tired. We had been all over Bali and spent 9 days on Gili Trawangan. I booked something a little more up market for our last two nights before we flew home. We got there and like many places, it is relatively unassuming from outside. However, we were then put on the back of a golf buggy and taken through the most beautiful rice fields to our private rice field villa, which was genuinely the most amazing place I have ever stayed. My girlfriend and I felt like we were on honeymoon and it was incredibly relaxed. We liked it so much we actually spent all our time in the hotel grounds by the pool and in our accommodation. The service was good and they let us use the amenities after check out as our flight was late in the evening.

One of the best hotels in our trip around Bali and surrounding islands. Everything about this place was professional, the service, the reception, the infrastructure etc. Room was rather big, tidy and clean. Service in the restaurant was also very professional. The pool was clean and nice. There was an electric vehicle to carry the baggage. The garden is looked after. Stay in this hotel is a pure pleasure. The hotel is a good 15 min walk away from the monkey forest and a further 10/15 min walk from the market/palace. We were happy using the hotel shuttle (4times a day) and walking back but one might like to be closer to things. The hotel itself was lovely; breakfast delicious, staff very friendly and helpful, views and surrounding areas lush and green.

Beautiful Resort
The resort was absolutely gorgeous and perfectly peaceful. I was blessed to have a corner room with garden views out of both sliding glass doors. All I could hear were birds chirping, none of the noise of the street. The pool was lovely and the restaurant was a nice relaxing place for a meal. In the future I might want to be a bit closer to central Ubud as I found myself on long walks back to the hotel at the end of each day. But what a beautiful place to return to. I was very sad when I finally had to leave.

These are villas built beside rice fields, gorgeous lush greeness everywhere! Loved the outdoor bathroom and shower. Only issue is that bedroom/living room are upstairs and. Red to navigate stairs if you need to go in the night! Great outside patio and balconies, was able to watch the rice being harvested from our balcony - very interesting. No tourist desk open at hotel so you need to negotiate excursions with individual drivers. Very good breakfasts combined buffet and menu. Loved Ubud!

A solo traveller review - February 2015
The bungalow villas are beautiful but the bathroom is downstairs and the stairs are steep and slippery. It gets little unpractical to go down at night time if needed. In the evenings the path from the main entrance to the bungalows is not lit properly. There should be more lights as it gets scarily dark and can be potentially dangerous. The bungalows have few coconuts trees on the way and one afternoon a coconut just fell whilst I was passing by. Thankfully it did miss me however I feel the trees should be checked regularly to avoid accidents with anyone passing by.

Real Ubud
I stayed in the second building from the entrance, in a two story traditional set up. It was very basic, but also very Bali with open air bathroom and tranquil views of the garden and ponds. The best part about this resort is that it is on a big property gardens and statues. The restaurant is way back from the main road and looks onto a pool area surrounded by rice paddies. Such a nice break from the relentless traffic.

Wonderful spot in a good location
Wonderful hotel on the Main Street in Ubud, which offers a shuttle service into town and to Monkey Forest (free). When you arrive at the reception, you think the hotel will be noisy on the road, however you are led into remote rice terraces and a tranquil environment where you can't even hear the road. Clean rooms and comfy beds, the shower was a little less clean. The restaurant is delicious. The staff are very friendly and are always smiling and greeting you throughout the resort. The massages are pricey, you can get a massage for cheaper in town (we didn't have any massages at the hotel so we can't say whether they were worth it or not). Don't reserve activities through the hotel, they are cheaper and prices can be negotiated in the town, as well as taxi services. The hotel is across the street from Agung Rai museum (ARMA) which is worth visiting, plan to stay at least 4-5 hours.

Highly Recommend!
This hotel was excellent. We went back for a second time and I stayed in the budget deluxe room as well as a garden view villa, both were great. The staff were very friendly and remembered us and our names the second time we stayed. The rooms were some of the cleanest I've seen in my month in Bali. Breakfast was plenty. The restaurant was good, and there were also many other nice restaurants in the area. There was two good sized pools, and the resort is a very large and spread out area looking over rice fields and is very quiet even though it is on a main road. It isn't far from the Monkey Forest, and it's about a 20 minute walk or a quick taxi ride from the centre of Ubud (I do believe they also offer a free shuttle into Ubud). They booked a tour of Mt. Batur for us with no issues which the driver then took us to our next destination in Seminyak. I would highly recommend this hotel. I also stayed next door at another hotel for the same price and this was the better of the two.
