Holiday Inn Gainesville - University Center by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"This was a great hotel to stay at if you are doing anything at UF, particularly at the library. It's basically right across the street. Room was very nice. Rooftop pool was a great place to cool off. Lots of restaurants in the area and a Publix right next door. Staff was great. I was there at a dead week, so the parking was low intensity, but being able to park and walk right over to campus was great."
"This hotel is in a great location downtown. The rooms are spacious and the lobby area was clean and had a lot of extras like a mini market, bar, and breakfast buffet. The breakfast was a highlight along with a later check out time. One of the nicest hotel breakfasts we've had in a while - lots of things to choose from and all cooked perfectly! The only downside was the extra fee for parking ($30) in the garage overnight. It was pouring rain and made our late arrival back from dinner a little challenging due to no parking and having to park several blocks away. Overall our stay was perfect, and we really enjoyed the hotel!"
"If you are claustrophobic, don’t pick this hotel. The bathroom was so small in a king size room. The bed felt like it had a piece of wood under it. The pillows were soft and it smelled old. The hotel needs some updates starting with the rooms. Breakfast was OK but not my taste."

4/10 Poor
"We stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past and it was always a pleasure. But this time the room we were offered was terrible. Sink was clogged, carpet on the window side of the room was soaking wet and TV had a vertical line in the middle of the screen the whole time. When we complained, reception desk sent a maintenance guy and he unclogged the sink working on it like 20 minutes. And he told me the carpet is wet because of the AC drain leaking. He brought a huge fan (it was noisy) to dry the carpet after working on the AC unit, but the carpet was wet for the rest of our stay. He also had to move the furniture to place the fan. And he said the hotel ordered new TV units but of course it doesn't help at all. We were not offered another room (or a refund). The whole thing was really inconvenient for us. I can easily say; this property has started showing it's age and for our next trip to Gainesville we are planning to stay some other place."
"Dated furniture probably from 90’s
Not one by receptical “wire devise” would retain a charge port, all devices were worn out, Safety Hazard! Very loud hotel."
