I love the family atmosphere of this hotel. I am always comfortable and warm in winter and there's a lot of restaurants within a short distance. Easy to find and has TV's in each room with a shared bathroom. It's an old pub and the management staff are great.
We wanted a place to stay that was comfortable, but not upmarket. It was close to everything & suited our needs. It was clean, staff were friendly and we could cook meals when required.
We were glad we chose The Met Hotel.
Thought low cost was no air con and shared bathroom. But it is just a back packer place in the centre . One bathroom was clean the other looked as if never cleaned . Website says bar/ cafe/ restaurant/ free wifi / coffee and tea at common areas . None existed . Room at least was quiet and dark . The other thing place stank of cigarettes

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
It was an old hotel, but apart from one very large cockroach, it was very clean. You need to realise that these cockroaches fly in and the window was open. I would definitely stay there again during the Carnival of Flowers. For just an overnight stay it was fine.
I really liked this little hotel, it was quiet and the location was really good. We had easy contact with the reception ( called a number). Important for guests to know that the entrance is around the side/back of the building. We stayed one night but slept very good. Downside is shared bathroom but its not the end of the world
It was comfortable for one night. Being a Saturday night other guests in the hotel were very noisy between 10pm and 2am disturbing my sleep. Showers and toilets were clean.

If it just a bed you are after, then The Met is ok. It is basic, clean and the other people are quiet.
The shared bathrooms are ok, take thongs.
The rooms just have a bed and a hand basin. They do get cold in winter, warm clothes is a must
After long days at FarmFest the sports club next door is the perfect place to have a great meal and a wind down until time to go to sleep as there is not kuch in the room to do.
The cafe/kitchen is very basic with a microwave and fridge. With tea and coffee available.
All in all for the price, The Met is fine.
Parking is on the street
It was difficult to get into the building, which was shut. A phone number was listed. The entrance was in a narrow lane with key safe boxes. The hotel itself was closed up and not operational. The bedrooms were clean and linen clean. The one common toilet and one common shower were dirty and unusable. What is on your website should be removed as it gives a bad name to you company. Someone should visit. I would recommend that you do not deal with this property. Thank you for the opportunity to share our experience
DO NOT BOOK. UNFIT TO STAY IN BUSINESS.
I wanted to contact property to notify late check-in. I called four/five times, nobody picked the call. I arrived around 7pm, found an afterhours contact number, called at least five times, no response. Eventually a person texted me with a lockbox code for room 8. I opened the box, there was no key (photo taken). Photo sent to hotel person, gave me code for room 12. A short while later a lady came down and started accusing me of stealing room 8 key, used extremely abusive language. She texted me with remarks ‘fxxxing dog’ which she later unsent.
The lady told me that she is going to call cops. I went to Toowoomba Police Station and reported the incident. Due to the behaviour, risk to self and belongings, I didn’t stay and booked another hotel for the night.
While I did not except a luxury experience in a budget hotel, this was quite extraordinary.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Nothing really special about this place... The mattress was not comfortable at all could feel the Springs On my body and The made noise when you moved.. terrible night sleep..
People singing and drunk till late..
Some of the Tennants do not have respect to not stomp around & make excessive noise during normal sleeping hours. Some of the floorboards do squeek as it is an old building, but people could do more to minimise noise. The lady there who is the caretaker does a very good job considering the type of people who come & go. She does a good job.
This motel was very good for what it is, a nice quiet and very comfortable motel room with tv fan and a shared kitchen and showers area but plenty of privacy and as I said it’s very quiet so makes for a great stay whilst travelling through the area
