"I chose this hotel for its location next to a ski resort and I liked the look of the tatami rooms. This hotel is very cheap and you get what you pay for. The room was small and old, the futon mattresses you use to make your bed were thin and I woke up achy every day. The staff were helpful and friendly with limited English. We tried a meal at the hotel and were asked to pay in advance and then given no menu - we just got what was given (which wasn’t bad actually). Theu have their own rental for...

"急なチェックイン時間と夜ごはんの時間変更も快く了承してくださり、奥さんと旦那さんはとても感じの良い方でした。夜ごはんはおかずの種類多くてボリュームもあり、豪華ですごく美味しかったです。朝ごはんも和食中心でおいしかったです！建物内に喫煙所、乾燥室、ロビー？にはコーヒー、お茶、紅茶が自由に飲めるポットと紙コップなど置いてあり飲み物に困らず過ごせました。お風呂と食堂は広くて、トイレも綺麗で、何も不備なく掃除も行き届いて清潔感がありました。近くのスキー場に行く時はまた宿泊したいです。ありがとうございました。 "

"I was somewhat upset when I first arrived at the hotel as I discovered how inconveniently located that it was. There are very few public buses and the hotel shuttle only operated from the Tobu Nikko station to the hotel very infrequently. I had to cab to the hotel and take another cab to get out to the town to eat, This costs approximately 1300-1500 yen, and about a 7 min drive, which is NOT walkable! There is no restaurant on site and hence there is no breakfast option. However there is a food truck in the mornings and the hotel sells items that can be heated using the toaster oven or microwave there. Apart from this, the room was large, very nice and clean: the bed was very comfortable. After spending one night there and reconciling myself to the inconvenience of the location, I appreciated the serenity of the place. Other hotels that are nearer to town are less likely to be as modern and as long as you are willing to pay for cabs, or plan ahead in the use of the shuttle, the hotel is great!"

"This was an excellent ryokan with a very convenient location, just a short walk from the main tourist attractions and the bus stop. The service was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. The highlight of my visit was definitely the private bath overlooking the river. It was so peaceful and relaxing, and easily one of the best experiences of my trip so far. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for an authentic ryokan experience with exceptional hospitality."

"Such a neat hotel nestled besides a picturesque river. The hotel feels nostalgic but very well maintained. The entire surrounding community is a throwback Show era town. Helpful staff at the reception desk and restaurant. Breakfast and lunch rotated between 2 menus but options were plentiful. This is my second visit to this hotel and it is in such a convenient location. Be sure to explore the Kinugawaonsen station and surrounding reservoirs and rural communities."

"Position is convenient for train and restaurants. Onsen area was fabulous alternating temperature between the 2 pools each day. All the personal care items you need. Microwave on each floor is handy. There was at least 1 english speaking staff on front counter at all times. Dinner a little expensive but food was nice."

"Our family enjoyed staying in the quiet countryside. The reservation includes a breakfast and dinner buffer, which was delicious. They also have complimentary drinks and snacks from 3 to 6pm. The hot springs felt relaxing as well. The hotel is isolated, and the nearest convenient store is a 10 minute walk away, but the trees and mountains really make you feel immersed in nature. Great reset from the hustle and bustle of city life."
