It is a great location. Above some restaurants and located on a street where there is a lottt of food options!! Regarding the room, we had 3 people in one room and couldn’t fit our 3 suitcases in the room. We had to put them on the spare bed because the room listed on the booking website looks extremely bigger than the one we were put in. Beware that if you have suitcases you’ll be hauling them up at least 3 flights of stairs The management was quite rude when messaging on WhatsApp. Overall 7/10

Great place for a cheap stay
A few friends and I had to get a last minute hotel in Tokyo due to missing our train to Osaka. Even though we reserved a room after the check-in time(10pm) we called the property owner and they promptly gave us all the information we needed. The room had all the necessities (bed, towel, toothbrush, fridge, microwave etc.). Showers and sinks were clean. The sinks are communal between the other rooms on the floor but the showers and bathrooms are private(located in the hall). Great place for the cheap price.

Terrible service and terrible male receptionist. The male manager during daytime didn't give me back deposit money. I booked the room there for 3 nights in total ( but I book 2 times, first booking = 2 nights, second booking =1 night ) He knocked the door and ask us to check out and check in again didn't return us deposit back. He said we check out late on the second day, he requested us to check out and check in again with cold and unfriendly scary voice. It's really unfair for us because we book to stay there for 3 nights.

Hotel photos are not accurately!
There’s no private bathroom, only a tidy single room. No space to put luggages. They supply bread and 2 eggs breakfast each day! No lift or escalator for transporting luggages. Everyday need to collect towels by self up and down two different stair cases! The best is they will supply a Wifi phone for use!

The photos don’t represent the room at all. I guess they have several properties and put all the pictures together so you don’t know what you’re getting. It was pretty much like a hostel shared living space but I thought we were getting a private room.

Needs Renovations or Will Fall Apart
The place is in desperate need of renovation and better maintenance. The facilities are old and falling apart. The rooms and beds are uncomfortable and everything happening both outside and inside the hotel can be heard. There is no elevator despite having multiple floors.

Nice place. But know what you’re getting into
Overall the stay was good for the price. They never mention that this place is a hostel. But it is; so here are some things you should know before staying here. I would highly recommend bringing slides or flip flops as the showers are shared with all of the other guests on the same floor as you. The rooms themselves are nice and pretty large for Tokyo standards but you can literally hear everything. People walking talking snoring. Everything. If you come here internationally the man at the front desk Is fluent in English so there’s no problem with that. They give you a phone to make international calls with which is super nice! There is a tv I’m the room but for some reason ours didn’t work. Overall I probably wouldn’t stay here again but only due to the shared toilets and showers.

We had an amazing time during our 11 day stay. This property is strategically located. We loved that it is just a few steps away from the busy streets of shinjuku and the korean town in shin okubo. Plus factor is that the famous don quijote is just around the corner. In addition, the unit we stayed in is really wonderful and well kept. We will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in tokyo. Thank you.. 👌👏

If you need privacy i think this property will not be a good choice. Excellent location and convenient, recommended for first timer to Tokyo and budgeting stay.

Tokyo House Inn undersells itself - we had free pocket WiFi, complimentary breakfast and a comfortable (if basic) room. Bathrooms are shared.

Decent hostel great location
Good hostel centrally located staff were pleasant and the dorms and bathrooms are very clean. Bit expensive but then again it is Japan and Tokyo so that’s to be expected really. Free eggs and toast for breakfast but you do have to make it yourself which was no problem and they gave a fridge and laundry facilities which you do yourself but again wasn’t a problem either

Tokyo House Inn is a backpackers hostel not a hotel. You can get a decent hotel in Tokyo for not much more and a fabulous Airbnb for less. Toilet and bathing facilities are all shared. There is no elevator only stairs. You leave ¥1000 deposit for your room key if you have a private room (no en-suite). You have small towels issued at check in. There are 2 buildings next to each other. The right hand one is dirty, cramped, very noisy. Our room had damp on the walls and was so close to the wash basins (in the corridor) that all night we could hear people using them. Our party was split between the two buildings. The left hand building is a bit fancier and cleaner. Bed sheets had been washed but were badly stained and we had to ask for clean ones. I saw substandard wiring e.g. no cover on a light switch, cabling going from the mirror lights down through the overflow on a sink (dangerous water-electricity!). Again very very noisy so impossible to get a full night’s sleep. The walls are paper thin. You can hear people talking in the room next door. Dorm rooms look very crowded. There is the Handy mobile Wi-Fi device in each room which will be great for back packers (although lots of free Wi-Fi all over Tokyo). For backpackers it is well located and has a noticeboard geared towards them. No good for couples or families. Breakfast is 2 eggs, toast and coffee that you prepare yourself (not Japanese). The staff are helpful and friendly. This is a hostel NOT a hotel.

Nice staff. Nice place. But 5/6 cockroaches found everywhere in our rooms. It’d be terrific if not for the bugs but if you also don’t like cockroaches in your bedsheets and towels, apparently avoid rooms in the “300”s.

Could have been better if the facilities’ fixtures were well kept. Brocken electrical outlets, broken towel holders and many more. I was glad we just stayed there for 5 hours, literally checked in almost midnight and left early for our flight.

The look of the place is really cool! The staff were very nice. However, we had a couple of issues with our room: there was a cockroach, some water damage on the ceiling, and the walls were too thin.
