Lovely place in Tokyo

Having a curfew sucks, but I was really impressed by the staff and the lockers were big enough to fit all my stuff and then some. Beds are a bit hard and the pillow provided is a joke, but for some reason I really liked the place

Beds are hard. Pillow is not really a pillow at all, but the staff was really nice and accommodating and it was everything I was looking for

Lockdown curfew
Their curfew is crazy if you are a traveler do not recommend staying here. Yes it is cheap but if you would like to go out or you have an early flight this is not the place for you.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry for causing you some inconvenience because of the curfew. Youth hostel is juvenile facility and we accommodate so many children as guests. To give them safety, the hostel shouldn't be accessible during the night. If you have another chance to visit Tokyo, hopefully you will find a hotel which can adjust to your schedule. Sincerely,

Not a normal hostile...Don't recommend staying herdon't recommend staying here
Definitely not a normal hostile I'm used to staying in less you have small children and your elderly this is not the place for you they lock you in at 11 PM and turn off the Wi-Fi also can't use Wi-Fi in your room. They also charge for everything.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry for causing you some troubles about the curfew and WiFi. Since we have so many juvenile guests, the hostel should be closed during the night to give them safety. We are afraid that we can't give an exception about this. About WiFi, we have received the same complains from other guests and we are doing our best to improve it right now .Hopefully it will be much better if you don't mind staying here again for next. I had booked this hostel without realising it was the same hostel I had stayed at on a school trip 4 years ago and I was pleasantly surprised as I was flooded with nostalgia of good times spent in seemingly the same room. The view of the skyline from the 18th level is magnificent both at night and day. The shower heads in the shared bathroom had really good pressure and reached the right temperature immediately resulting in very nice showers, shampoo and body wash also was supplied which was nice. Towels needed to be rented 200¥ each so bringing your own towel is advised as well as own tooth brush and paste etc. Staff was friendly and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone eager to stay in the Iidabashi station area as it is conveniently located a few minutes walk away!

The youth hostel was located on the 17th floor so had great views. My room was clean and comfortable, although small. The front desk was efficient and very helpful.

The kid there were bad
The facilities of the hostel were practically perfect. The only issue I took with the site were the wild, noisy Russian children that were allowed to trample up and down place while shouting at all hours, whom the staff made no effort to attempt to keep under control.

Great location
TCYH is close to the idabashi train station with lots of restaurants and shops downstairs. It’s very convenient. The facilities were clean with a pay phone by reception. I had a two person room and it was great to have a table, full mirror and comfortable couch.. My only criticism is the room seemed relatively clean but had a slight smell (of old ness?) that I can’t describe. I wiped everything down but it was the same. Overall i enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

Good location with lots of eating places around
You can use JR line and 3subway lines in Iidabashi, where the hostel is located. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants in a walking distance. If you'd like to cook, there is a kitchen next to the cafeteria.

Small budget? try Tokyo Youth Hostel!
After two weeks traveling in Japan, and at the end of our trip, we found Tokyo Youth Hostel to be a perfect location. Easy access to trains and subways and plenty of access to supermarkets, restaurants and other ammenities. My adult children and I were able secure a 4 bunk room with couch, table, lockers (ample room for suitcases etc), lights on each bunk and privacy curtains. The shared toilets and shower/bathroom was clean with plenty of room. There is also two lounging areas. Two things of note wifi is only accessible in the lounge areas and smoking is allowed at specific times of day, I believe that hours for smoking is after 10pm in the lounge? Breakfast is extra with options of cereal, eggs, toast, etc... coffee, tea, juice, milk ...... If you are traveling on a small budget Tokyo Youth Hostel is a great place to stay.

Impersonal, no style, but handy to trains
Noisy overall. In the rooms, the metal lockers and clunky switches for bunk lights make it difficult to be quiet as a mouse. Truly hot water is not available in the washroom, and the water pressure of the showers can be low (maybe depending on the time of day). The “free” external wi-fi was down the whole time; the house wi-fi is only available near the common areas. Although far from major sightseeing areas, it is perched above four railway & subway stations, the best feature. Shops on lower floors. Nearby Kagurazaka Street and the canal beer garden are fun.

Nice hostel near metro line very centric
This is an excellent option for families like us with 2 adults and 3 kids as we could all stay in one room. The common facilities like toilets and bath/showers are very clean and the kitchen and lunch room facilities with wifi throughout make it the best choice for a value for money stay. There are many eateries /shops and a small supermarket / department floor on the ground floor making it convenient to get some quick snacks. The views are really nice too from every room. Hostel team is very friendly and helpful and we were able to keep our luggage at their luggage room prior to our 3pm check in and after our 10am checkout. This is extremely convenient. Overall very satisfied with our stay here.

Stay 3 night in Tokyo with this hostel. General is above average. The view is very great, but you have bare some train noise in mid night(not so frequent in night time.) The bunk is just so so and no separate plug for each bunk. A bit inconvenient for charging phone and gadget.

Good location with access to subway and JR line trains. Enjoyed soaking in the tub and access to tiny kitchen with fridge. Mattresses were extremely thin and you could feel the wood underneath, not very comfortable. Only one bathroom for each gender, so you have to go to 20th floor (not hotel) when they are cleaning. One evening a group of men sat and talked really loudly in the lounge from 11pm-12am while smoking. It was very hard to sleep.

Good place to stay for a night, maybe 2, especially if you're traveling in a large group. Very close to several train lines. The only real downside to this hostel is the 11PM curfew.

It was a good location as it was in a shopping mall that is right above the JR station. Peaceful, comfortable and clean hostel environment. Couldn't ask for a better accommodation in Tokyo.

Stayed here on new years eve to find out it has an 11pm curfew. Cannot enter or exit the building between 11pm and 6am- completely unworkable rules that need to be amended.

It's a great hostel for the budget traveler.I was staying in a four bed dorm, it was pretty big room, big beds, a couch and a table in the room and also a great view of the city. I didn't like that there is no WiFi in the rooms, only in the common area. Also keep in mind they have a curfew from 11pm-6am and that means no leaving the hostel at all. The staff is pretty helpful.

枕の底に靴下？
安価でたすかりました。ドームで展示会があったので近くだし、部屋は三人でしたが年齢が近く遠慮なくすごせました。浴室のマットの枚数をもっと増やして欲しいです。 人数が多いときになるとマットが二枚だとお風呂を出た後に他の人に取られてびしょびしょで不快でした。それと何故か枕カバーのなかが変なので見たら靴下が一足入ってたので洗濯の時に紛れて、そのまま上から枕を押し込んだのでしょうか？不思議でした。

浴室が良い！湯舟があります‼︎
駅直結！同ビルに百均あり。近くにスーパーや飲食店もあります。なんと言っても『湯舟』があることが一番ありがたいです！夜24時までと、朝6時〜9時まで入れます‼︎23時までに帰らないと締め出しくらいますが…（笑） 駅近で湯舟に入れて、毛布２枚付き8人ドミトリーでこの価格なら、ホントに上等です‼︎ また泊まりたいです！
