The hotel is respectably clean and simple. Location is excellent- just a few meters away from the station, all 3 major convenience stores, and a few blocks away from a large supermarket and laundromat. I only took off 1 star because the room was a little too small for our amount of luggage, and although self pre-check-in was relatively fine it was a bit confusing and unresponsive. Also, we completely missed where they property said they don't do luggage mail services so that was inconvenient. Best for light travelers and small groups.

Fantastic
Amazing, clean, great proximity to train station and airport, fair price - this place checked all the boxes. If there was any downside - it would only be that the area is not very "happening", and is more of a quiet suburb. If you're into that - perfect! But the hotel itself is awesome.

Great place in small complex and pretty handy to Airport, KK line and convenience stores. Be careful: They advertise 24 hour reception but it’s not on-site so don’t get caught out like we did trying to drop off our luggage to the non-existent reception desk. No early check-ins allowed either. Very helpful with the check-in process albeit via video link.

Although the room is small but feels comfortable during the one night stayed. The most I like is TV can be used for YouTube, Netflix rather than to watch only the traditional channel.

Check in process was simple. Our unit could have been a bit cleaner, surprised by how spacious the place was and the projector screen concept was very unique. Very easy to get to the airport from there

No reception staff. Needed WiFi to contact someone. Not every has this when visiting Japan and very difficult to follow instruction to get booked in via phone. Wasn't sent access code into the building. Very stressful and had to wait for someone else to try and book in to help. They also had issues.

Neat and tidy. Nice air conditioning room. Nice washrooms and clean room. The entrance and hallway had a musty smell but didn’t smell inside the room. Many convenience stores and some restaurants nearby. Great area to walk. Enjoyed the fox shrine. Short distance to train station to airport. Need code to enter to check in electronically. No one at the front desk but can call and do video chat.

Cheap place to stay near the airport. It’s not the classiest place but it served our needs well. Very close to the train station and plenty of food nearby. However check in was a disaster. There is no front desk and nobody to help you, it’s all done remotely. Pretty slick but there are a lot of problems with the process. For starters, I booked the reservation through Expedia and they sent my confirmation with the access code to get in the building to Expedia—-but I received nothing from them. I received emails via Expedia from other hotels but none of Theatel’s emails came through. So after trekking from the suburbs of Tokyo I arrive to find out that I can’t get in. It took a lot of phone calls and my spelling out of my email but that email finally came through and I was able to get in. Then you have to self-check in through a tablet which sounds easy enough but there are three tablets there and one video camera. How am I supposed to know which one I use? I had to press a video icon and there was none. Eventually the guy just let me through. On the plus side, they speak good English, were very nice and accommodating, and my issues were eventually resolved. But there is so much confusion surrounding this hotel—-the hotel is “Theatel Hotel II” not “Theatel Hotel” as I thought it was. Small detail but added to the vagueness of the whole experience. Not recommended if you don’t have Wi-Fi or access to a phone. You get what you pay for.

The room was clean and fairly quiet. The check-in process was a little different as it’s a staff-less hotel, but no major complaints. They don’t use keys or keycards, they use codes to enter the building and your room. This was handy as you don’t need to worry about carrying a key around, but the code we had was long and tedious to enter our room after a long day out. It was located pretty close to the train station, so commuting was easy. Also close to various convenience stores and cafes. Our family enjoyed the large projector screen as well.
