Some of this website hotel pictures are deceitful. Lovely room but no window that gives on the outside, makes it a little dark. Great staff help though.

As per our location it is not only easy access the station but it is also easy to reach Ueno zoo, National Museum, Asakusa, Skytree, Tokyo station, Tokyo Dome, emperor palace and many other important places in Tokyo. Great Ueno location, close to station. Room is small, however this is true for all Tokyo hotels. Clean and comfy room and good location. Arrived at 2pm and had to wait until 3pm to check in and wasn’t able to check in any earlier.

Dear Sir / Madam Thank you for your review. The Keisei Ueno station from where Narita Skyliner express operates is only 5 minutes from our hotel. very convenient . Other important places like Ueno Zoo, National Museum, Tokyo station, Asakusa, Sky tree, and many other are within 5-20minute distance.

Pros: Perfect location. 10minutes to skyliner for narita. In the middle of all the restaurants. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Cons: I first got assigned to 301. Absoluetly no internet connection from my pocket wifi. The hotel wifi is not reliable. Kept disconnected. I went right back and they changed me to 901. Now the pocket wifi was working but the hotel wifi was still bad. Dated old hotel. Need to be refurblished. That said, they kept is very clean. Suggestion: As for high floor rooms otherwise is a great hotel.

Great location, good price and friendly staff. The only thing holding this review from being :) is the fact that the hotel faces a heavily travelled expressway, and the hallways are inexplicably open air. It's not so noisy that it keeps you up, but you still hear the traffic

This room was small like any other in Tokyo and a little bit noisy with tollway traffic but very convenient. There was everything within walking distance.

A little away from the Ueno Station, and accessible to a couple other subway lines. It’s a great place to base out of if you want to experience Tokyo without the extreme business of some of the other transportation hubs. Within walking distance to a number of excellent museums. The room will be small by western standards, but has everything you’d need for a comfortable and private stay.

Metro station are in a same distance. Other spot like Ueno zoo, Nation Museum are in 10 minute walking distance. Asakusa, Sky Tree, Tokyo station, Tokyo Dome, Imperial Palace, and many other important tourist spot are within 10-15 Minutes distance. Thank you and best regards,

Awful air conditioning
Air conditioning was horrible. The room was unbearabley hot, it was actually hotter in the room than it was outside. I actually booked another room elsewhere and checked out about an hour after checking in. Staff was nice, but lack of properly functioning air conditioning is a deal breaker in the midst of hot and humid summers.

Dear Sir / Madam First of all we are sorry for the inconvenience. Regarding the air condition, each room have a separate conditioning system and it begin working soon as it switch on. In most cases we have found that the guest was unable to use the remote control as it is in Japanese only. To resolve this issue we have made an English manual for non-Japanese which is available at reception. Our front staff are available 24Hrs for support. Thank you and best regards.

It is very well situated from ueno station and kesei ueno. The ameyoko market is also close, alot of food choices. The room is ok. The only downside would be that there should be dark curtains to cut the sunlight. It gets very bright early in the morning.

The shop beside the hotel use to have some customer sitting along the corridor , while drinking the beer and watching the customer enter into the hotel. Especially when lady entering into hotel. While I was inside the elevator , the lady whom entered was complaint her unhappiness. Anyway everyone has their right , believe the hotel also cannot do anything with it.

Great for sightseeing, not great for bathing.
the hotel was in a great location. The bathroom was a bit grubby in places, especially the shower area. I've stayed in APA hotels before so know what to expect so the bathroom was a little disappointing. Everything else was great, comfy bed, clean living space. It's just a shame that the shower wasn't great. There was also no bath, which made me very sad. Great links to Tokyo and Narita Airport. The area is great for food and atmosphere.

Expensive for what it is
It was certainly the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in in my entire life. The surface area of the hotel room was little larger than the bed. For this I paid £120. Expensive for what it is.

Nice hotel for the price!
The room is small which is expected in Japan but very functional. I like it that they provided Shiseido brand shower gel, shampoo, etc. The only thing I don't like is the shower area which has curtain and I had to be careful not to turn the shower too high, splashing water to the outside. Overall, I enjoyed my 4 nights stay here. Very convenient, only 3 minutes walk to subway station. Will definitely stay here again next time.

In 2017, I also stayed a night at this APA hotel, so that should say something about how I feel about it. Mainly, it's location, location, location when it comes to this APA - it's 2 blocks from Ueno train station and Ueno park. Got to love that! Otherwise, it's one of the older APA hotels in the chain, but the room was clean and the bed was soft. I did find a large hair in the shower, which was a first for me in Japan, and why I gave it a "4" for cleanliness. Otherwise, the room was spotlessly clean. The staff at the APA hotel was super friendly, helpful and they spoke good English. Very professional and helpful. There is ample things to do and eat at around Ueno, hence the location is the big draw here. I would certainly stay here again when I'm near Ueno station.
