You can walk to the lake in 2 minutes which is nice. The area is run down with questionable people including drug addicts. The Hotel is dated but was clean with decent rooms and facilities. The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly.

A lot of homeless around the area was not safe to be alone outside was approached a few time … felt unsafe but rooms nice little dirty on the windows and blinds.

We booked this property on a whim because of the price, but we should know by now that you get what you pay for. It’s a strange layout and we were on the second floor but could hear every time the phone range at the desk. The decor is very busy. Personally, I’m looking to relax when I travel so I prefer a more subtle decor. The fact that the car lot was locked like a towing compound at night made me concerned about the safety in the area. The breakfast was okay, and it was walkable to the harbour front and the downtown, although the downtown itself is in bad shape. We used it as a base to visit locations outside of the city that we were interested in seeing.

The hotel was nice and the staff was great but the area around the hotel looked a little iffy. They had a parking lot that had a gate that is locked at night.

We have stayed here before. It is nice and quiet. Easy parking. Walking distance to some good food. We would probably stay here again.

It's a unique hotel, but in a slightly dodgy area of town, but it's obvious that the city is working to clean up the area. Walking distance to some nice restaurants and pubs.

Hotel is updated and modern, clean room — near the harbour and good dining but in a bit of a seedy area of town.

Looks decent online far from it. Never in my life have I stayed in a Best Western branded hotel that is such a dump. Let’s start with the outside, looks worn and a little beat up, not a big deal, crack heads and bums all around, not appealing. Proceed to check-in well the computer system is down, waist like an hr in line to check in with many others waiting as well. Now to talk about the inside, over powering smell of pine sol or similar cleaning detergent throughout the property for starters, now get into this elevator that is probably from the 50s for the very slow ride up having much time to see the filth on the floor, the spit on the hand rail and button panel that looks like it hasn’t been as much as wiped in months, get up to our floor now, garbage on the floor outside the elevator meanwhile cleaning staff were vacuuming and doing a horrible jobs, the carpet in the halls are ragged and filthy doors are beat up missing paint, now get in the room well it stinks as bad as hall, proceed to check beds for bug and find a hard yellow crust on the side of the mattress protector, furniture all worn and dirty,doors to the bathroom doors would not stay closed with little privacy and the one door the bolts were coming out and the lamp was falling off the wall lol. I honestly wish I was making this up but other then being a little humorous it kind of ruined our time. The staff were friendly and helpful but don’t expect anything more than a poorly renovated dirty old building.

We do not even enter to the room, since the area where the hotel is located looked awfully unsafe. The entrance and parking lot smell like pee and vomit, reception smell like pee too. The only good thing was staff friendliness.

Our room was clean and a good size. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom is on the smaller size but worked efficiently with excellent water pressure in the shower. Only issue inside the room is the bathroom barn door. Total lack of privacy due to this design. We really appreciated the fenced parking that is secured overnight. Other reviews have complained about this, but we had extra confidence that our vehicle was safe and secure. Overall we had a very good 1 night stay and would stay here again.

The room was okay. However , it needs a better cleaning. Like the air vent in the washroom needs to be vacuum the build up dirt. There’s stain on the walls. Bathroom vanity need a bit bigger, there’s barely any space for our stuff .
