A quiet and friendly hotel near the Palace Museum
So, I was staying there because of proximity to the palace museum. I really liked it! I should say, it is a twenty minute walk away from the shops of Shilin Station area. That didn't matter very much for me. I think Yusense hotel would be well suited to people who want a quiet stay, although the staff did tell me that it was busier on weekends. For me it was perfect. It was very comfortable, and there was a nice desk where I could finish up some urgent work related jobs (it was a working holiday!) I went to the Palace Museum twice with the hotel as a base. I like to take more than one trip to a museum, as it is hard to absorb everything on one trip. I get overtired!

The hotel is almost next door to the museum. And not far from Shilin night market. The breakfast is not as good as other hotels in this level. The room is very large and excellent. All furniture are high quality. The location is not the best for public transportation.

Even though this 4 star hotel got the high customer rating, it was not exactly matching what it's supposed to. The facility of hotel is only 2 star at most without any fancy pool or view, except a small pond with mosquito. It claim elegant and simple design, but I only saw the old and simple. The service it provided is not matching with its advertisement either: the shuttle service to airport is just help you call taxi, for example. It charged extra NTD1000 for kid during the check in, with only giving one extra towel and a couple of cookies. Room service is also confusing and will be missed for sure. Free laundry is the few positive things I can say.

It is such a nice and easy walk from the hotel to the National Palace Museum. 3 minutes of walk to the bus stop which takes you to the nearby MTR station. A direct bus take you all the way to city hall/building 101 area, about 45 mins. This small hotel’s interior has good size public space. A beautiful blend of western’s modern comfort and Asian gardening. Room is small, clean, quiet with mountain View. Bed and bedding is simply great. Has a good size bathroom in taiwan standard. Clean! I will give this hotel a perfect rating if the bathroom floor is dry after shower. Or at least added safety hand rail. Breakfast is make to order, nice. Overall, this hotel is great for the price I paid. Will be back!

It was my first time visiting Taiwan. I was staying at this hotel for 5 nights. I found all the staff very friendly and were always ready to help. The room, Room 905, I was staying in was very clean and therefore, I was able to enjoy a bath every other morning to prep for a long day exploring Taipei. ;) There is a gym on the fifth floor with sets of dumbbells, two treadmills and an exercise bike as well as a little 'library'. The setting of the library is relaxing as I could sit right in front of the artificial pond comfortably reading books and magazines about Taiwan whilst cooling down after the gym. I would have given them a 5 instead of a 4 on the facilities if they had a 'yoga mat' in the gym. Another good side worth to mention is that all the snacks, drinks and fruits in the room were complimentary! Overall, I was satisfied with my stay. Keep up with the good work Yusense Hotel! :)

Great Location for all north Taipei Points
Yusense Hotel is about 3 years old. As such it is modern and luxurious. I was impressed with the quality of furniture, woodwork and tile used in the room and building. I’m guessing this is a 5 Star Hotel… . Friendly accommodating staff. Pleasant relaxing environment. Very new! Excellent for visiting the National Palace Museum on foot, but too far from town. Highly recommend to young art lovers to stay a couple of days . The building is well maintained. But all balconies were locked up and so customers couldn't even take a better photo of the area. There was a large exhibition room with a great collection of artistic wood sculptures. But it was knocked up too. The interior designer must be a youngster who didn't know the need of old customers. There was platform in public area without obvious colour design or lighting to indicate its potential danger of falling. The bathroom was very clean with a deep glitteringly shining smooth bathtub without any safety handrails. One has to be extremely careful to get in and out when having a shower. All in all, the friendly attitude of the staffs make the stay a present one and it is highly recommended for young customers who love tradictional arts for a short visit.

super clean hotel with comfort and style
The lady at the reception is very friendly and helpful and speaks perfect English too. The official check-in time is 3 pm but she let us get into our room two hours earlier, which is greatly appreciated coz we just had a tiring trip from the mountains in Nantou. Don't be turned off by the location which seems to be a bit far from the closest metro station; the bus stop is just a minute's walk away and it takes less than 10 minutes to get to the Shilan station. The room is super clean and very quiet with self-control thermostat that really works. My vegetarian breakfast is delicious and plentiful. This is a hotel with comfort and style; I would definitely stay here again next time when I come to Taipei.

Fantastic, quiet gem.
I extended my stay. Twice. Becaus I loved this quiet, tranquil oasis very near (a path through the garden the whole way) to thr National Palace. Great room with super bed, huge bathroom with wonderful tub, fantastic picture windows facing the hills and delicious made-to-order breakfast in a handsome room. Above all, the staff were superb. Great hotel!

I loved this hotel. Absolutely fantastic staff. My room (702) was big and clean and super comfortable bed, with giant picture windows looking right up into the hills surrounding the Palace Museum. Super bathroom with a great tub. Excellent, made to order, breakfast. And the staff were just super in every way. I loved this hotel.

Proximity to the Palace Museum
This hotel distance is rather near to the Palace Museum, good if you are buying lots of books or heavy stuffs. Beside the hotel is a lily garden with running waters, a tranquil place to be. The hotel also gives free mini bar items like Coke, Sprite and chips. The bad thing is that there is no food center or restaurant around the hotel.

A wonderful way to enjoy the Palace Museum
A wonderful hotel, less than 10 minutes walk from the National Palace Museum; the walk is through a tranquil garden (Chih-te or Zhide Park) and along the right side of a quiet road (labeled Lane 113) that climbs up to the museum without any steps. Get a water-view room; the hotel has a beautiful little landscaped pond on the 5th floor, where the rooms look right onto it. The rates are very reasonable. The hotel has a restaurant, but it doesn’t serve dinner. However, the Palace Museum has a restaurant right next to it, the Silks Palace, which has excellent food, including many local dishes.

Comfortable hotel but a bit secluded.
I really like the design of the hotel and the room is comfortable and clean with a nice view. Snacks were offered for free which was good. There is however nothing much to do around the area and without a car it is really quite far away from the city. Was not impressed with the service level over breakfast. Compared to the rest of the staff , staff at breakfast was rather unfriendly. Was a bit surprised when I was asked to clean up when I accidentally spilled some water when trying to serve myself over breakfast from the bar area. This really affected my overall impression given that they do charge a similar rate (if not higher) to hotels of a similar level but much closer to the city centre.

Very dated hotel , carpet in the room is old and stained terribly , decor is old too but clean , shower must be recently remodeled and is good . Despite the claim of next to Palace Museum , it was a 15 min uphill hike , and when I got there , I was soaking wet . There is taxi of course ,but the hotel entrance is right in front a fast traffic lane . It took me a while to catch one willing to stop then due to the wrong direction , the taxi has to make a U turn which scare me during fast traffic . Staffs are nice and courteous , the exterior appears modern and hallway are clean but again overall this hotel is old and fading away and deceiving on it's website . I will visit the National Palace Museum again but I will stay at a more distant hotel and take taxi to get off in front of the museum without sweatings so much .

This hotel seems very new and the designer / owner (?) seems very proud of his design of the hotel. However, it's a bit far from the city and all the action! Having said that, I give the hotel good marks for being close to the National Palace Museum so if you're in Taipei for the culture, it would be a great choice.
