Unethical hotel that charged to credit card without notice/approval - I've booked for 4-night stay in Jan and opted for Pay When You Stay, which means I will not be charged and pay directly at the property.
The hotel however, charged my credit card in full payment before my arrival. Upon check-in, I questioned the receptionist and she defended her action, putting the blame on Expedia. She claimed the amount was for deposit. Which hotel charged full amount as deposit and without notifying the guest? As I have two different credit cards for travelling purposes, so I was charged twice on the full amount. With an arrogant tone, the receptionist also "advised" me to return my room key card at the reception everytime I'm out of the hotel because they only have one (01) room key card and I'll have to pay for the cost if it's lost. The receptionist also "advised" that although I'm travelling with my mother and a 3-year old kid, they can only provide 2 towels as I've booked for a double room. In this century, I'm surprised that there are such hotel operating with one room key card and without common sense. The only perk, the hotel has a washing machine and 2 dryers on complimentary for hotel guests to use. Location is convenient with walking distance to night market, eateries and shopping.
