A nice hotel that has passed its prime. We can see that this hotel was meant to be a nice one. Fairly clean. Wallabie to Raohe Night Market. About 10 minute walk to MRT. Staff are professional. No central heating in winter. We had a small portable room heater blasting 24/7 to keep the room at 20 degrees. The exterior of the hotel can use some help.

Friendly staff who spoke English well, great location with the Raohe night market and green line metro just a short walk away, and comfortable accommodations in good shape. I'd recommend for anyone looking for a quality place to stay in Taipei! Lots of excellent breakfast spots nearby too.

I truly appreciate the assistance that the staff has provided during my stay at the City Suites Taipei Nandong. If I am to come back to Taipei, I will definitely choose to stay at this property again. The staff who helped me took the time to explain to me how I can arrange my itinerary better. It was a great experience! The property is clean and well maintained; although I didn't receive any room upgrades or other VIP benefits, it was a great experience. Walkable to Rao He Night Market which is one of the most amazing night market that I experienced while I was there. Easy access to convenience stores. Easy access to breakfast place. Totally recommended.

Affordable hotel in central area to night market
Super comfy beds in a central area close to night market. 10 min walk to train. 30-45 drive from TPE airport. Stayed in room 511. Huge windows with auto blinds. There are no outlets by the bed which I found odd but out of our five weeks in asia they had the best linens and pillows. Very soft.

The check-in process was not smooth as the hotel uses self check-in counter but did not specify clearly and we had to wait a while until someone came to assist as no one was available when we arrived. The room is definitely outdated and needs a refurbishment. The amenities were well provided though.

The quilts are to the shorter side, we had to fight to share because if one person turns, the other is left with almost none. Also, the AC is centralise controlled so it is usually too hot or cold - when its too cold, you switch it off and on again to adjust to your preferred temperature but if its too hot, i guess you have to deal with it. One thing to mention though, during the day I checked out, I was attended to by a gentleman at the reception and his hair was badly groomed, his hair was tied up in a messy bun and a hairband to keep his fringe tugged away. I thought that was strange as the hotel seems to have a professsional image to upkeep. The other ladies at the reception I encountered was groomed well and friendly though. Overall, though the hotel room is slightly small, the washroom is very clean and spacious. Service at hotel is prompt. Hotel generally looks gorgeous and new despite surrounded by/in old buildings. Location is pretty convenient, MRT station is about 6-8 mins walk away. It was a decent stay.

This hotel is not for me.
The hotel is outdated. Room smelled like cigarettes. Hotel staff seemed to be shocked at the fact it smelled bad. Unfortunately they did not do anything to fix the problem. View from room was a highway. Breakfast selection for me was very poor since they probably dont cater to many foreigners. If you're not a local, you might want to choose a different hotel.
