There isn't slways someone at the front desk, so if you need somethning, you'll have to get the personal number of the employees and call. But overall, the place was very comfortable, clean and complete especialluy for the price. Excellent location.

Just like the name of hotel it is simple
Great location in the heart of Ximending. Hotel is simple and does the job to sleep for short stay few days maximum. Just don’t set any expectations and for short few days only Note: There is no sign of hotel anywhere .... and you need a phone to call a staff to come out to open the discreet black door.

Simple place to rest for the night
From the name itself, it is a Simple Place where you can get good rest after a long day of sightseeing. The location is near Ximending so you won't be far from the busy night market of Ximen. Sometimes simple is all we need.

Comfort stay near to main attractions
The staffs are friendly, helpful. room is clean. they provide water bottle everyday. convenient stall and food can be found around the corners. the only downside is that the room is a lil too small for 3 persons (i got a 3 persons room). the bed is big enough but the space is limited with our luggage. overall this is a very nice hotel

Brief Stay in Taipei
I was only in country 3 nights. That being said, the staff at a Simple Place were excellent and very helpful with maps, recommendations, etc. It is not fancy, but clean, great shower, and comfortable bed. Great location to the subway, main station only one stop away. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice SERVICE. Front desk was willing to stay behind for waiting us when our flight delayed serval hours at night. Although the hotel description was no check in service after 22:30.

A hidden gem in Ximending
Perfect location! In the heart of Ximending, where everything is there (Shops, Cafes, Restaurants, Hotels) within walking distance and complete pedestrian area. But the staff is not always at the reception.

Perfect location, only 1 block from Ximen MRT. Really good services for the lady at front desk. Thank you for everything! There were minor details in the room and previous comments about the noise are true. I stayed for 4 nights. Only 1 night was awoke by the couples next room. The other nights couldn't hear my neighbours. I guess that it depends on the self awareness for the guests to keep their voices down too after a certain hours. I will stay in this hotel again.

Recommended to stay in Taiwan/Xi Men Ding
Location to xi men ding station and xi men ding shopping area is just 5 minutes walk. Room is not too small & comfortably for two person stay.

Value for money accommodation near Ximending
Entrance is a distinctive pink door which is easy to spot once u know how to get there (about 10 minutes walk from Exit 1 of Ximen MRT) though I had to call the staff to get in as the door was auto locked (can only be opened by door card which is a plus for security). Lobby was small as was the elevator but the room was big enough for a single traveler like myself (plenty of walking space). Room was cleaned daily with top ups of snacks, coffee/tea bags as well as washing essentials. Special mention to the lady boss who was friendly and caring. Also, great location and across the street to a famous supper place selling braised pork rice and fish soup (10pm to 5am). Overall, I will give it a thumbs up for its value for money location and decent room stay. Definitely will recommend to budget travelers.

A hidden gem in Ximending.
The hotel located about 10 mins walk from the Ximending main shopping street. Small but cozy room. Suitable for lone traveller and couples.The receptionists are friendly and very helpful. There is a restaurant beside the hotel selling tasty Taiwanese food.

Good location near to MRT.The entrance of the hotel is difficult to find. Very small room, there aren't enough places to hang your clothes or wet towels. The wall are not sound-proof, can hear people from next door talking and flashing the toilet and taking shower. Not recommended if you are a light sleeper.

The triple room is too small though we just have two person, the staff there were nice and friendly. The entrance of the hotel is difficult to find, and if you want to check in, there will be a chance that no one in the front desk, no one open the door for you.

Strategic location to marts, restaurant, ximending pedestrian shopping. The shops next to hotel are serving nice food!

Not value for money. This is a hostel, not a hotel. Poor service. Arrived at 2pm plus and was told the room was ready. Given the key and went to the room and it was not ready. Was told to return after 3pm. Came back at 5pm and room was ready. However area outside room was still messy with housing keeping cart, bedsheets, towels, etc. Room was relatively clean but smelly. No reception at night and was suppose to be opened at 8am. Room is not big and poorly designed. Its new and somewhat clean and near shopping area. Plenty of choices in the area.

Stayed for 5 nights but would definitely come back. Extremely friendly staff who were helpful to assist you getting around. Laundry was available for free which was a bonus. Location was a bit hard to find initially as it should be buildong number 215 not 218 as per expedia listing. However, it is close to everything, shops, sights and transport. Room size is very generous and condition was very clean. Only negatives was noise from neighbours and the shower water pressure a bit weak, other than that A Simple Place is great value.

A quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of TPE
Other than the fact that the hotel doesn't have a prominent entrance, the stay was pleasant. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated not too far from the Ximending (XMD) shopping area and the XMD train station too. This means less traffic at night which then means a quieter evening. There are numerous TV stations including English and Mandarin channels. There's also an elevator although I very much preferred the stairs since my room was on the second floor.

Good Stay
It was my first time staying here. Room was small. not enough space to put 2 large luggage. After the first night, service staffs were very kind to give us a slightly bigger room. Has a pantry at level 6 at your convenient. Overall, a good stay for a short trip.

There is no sign and hard to find. The hotel staff was impolite and I did not feel well on my first day. He was away at morning and night time, which is not like a hotel. The bathroom curtain was not good enough, there was gap..... People could see you from the street. I wouldn't stay there again.

Nice hotel, close to the MRT and Ximending
The staff of the hotel are really friendly and helpful. Although the room is small, it was comfortable, convenient and clean. Me and my friend really enjoyed staying in the hotel. The only drawback is, I cannot find fixed line telephone in the double room. But still, we could find the staff in the lobby. And it is surrounded by convenient shops, good location. Nice experience.
