Hotel was average (typical hard beds and dated decor) but great ski in-out location with connection to adjacent Kagura/Tashiro resort. The view from the Dragondola is stunning and snow quality good. Good food court, restaurants and variety of shops within the resort makeup for the lack of any sign of vibrancy or convenience stores in the village. Everything was reasonably priced. The onsen baths are very basic and have a small capacity given the huge resort complex. Hotel staff were fantastic.

I think very few gaijin go this far out. Some of the communication was difficult but the staff tried really hard and we enjoyed the stay Hard to navigate getting to and from major stations and it snowed one day at end of March Overall I’m glad we did it for the experience to be immersed in Japanese ...
