Nice house, excellent breakfast

The house is historic, nice decoration. A good stop at Swansea on the way to wineglass bay. The breakfast was the best in Tasmania! Freshly cooked hot bacon & eggs with juices & yogurt.

EXCELLENT!!!!!

Simply excellent!!! Best breakfast ever had in Tasmania!!! The room was beautifully decorated and had no sign of outdated-ness although the furniture was antique. The puppies Lulu and Dougal were both very cute. I see the housekeeper's passion in running this Bed and Breakfast by their impeccable service, the food they prepare and all the details that they have thought through (e.g. the towel colour, the free-wifi, their books...etc). Full marks for this stay without any doubt!!

Check in instructions on Expedia were a bit vague, but once we were there it was smooth sailing. Lovely old home, very comfortable room and mind blowing breakfast.

The rooms were lovely and clean nice size and nice touches with coffee machine etc the surrounds need some tlc , but admit it would be a hard job site so much garden. Would hi Le be nice to have some tourist information in the room as Noel wasn’t forthcoming with information. Quiet town which shuts down early so don’t expect late dinners. Meredith house sign stated fine in-house dining but this didn’t appear to be available

Better Then The Comforts of Home

A Great Experience. Meredith House is a fine old lady showing a few smile lines but the experience, efficiency, knowledge and hospitality of the hosts made her look gamerous. The room was comfortable, the communal lounge area and library were interesting and the breakfasts were superb. Homemade croissants, donuts, pastries, an amazing variety of cereals and a beautifully cooked hot breakfast were fantastic. We can’t recommend it enough.

It is a beautiful old house with a lovely garden which is cared for by excellent hosts. Home made croissants, buns and muffins (made very early in the morning), fruit from the garden and heirloom hot dishes make for a great breakfast. Walking distance to everything in Swansea. A lovely place to stay if you are visiting the area.

Awesome service and comfortable and quiet.

The service was great. Neil and Noel were very helpful regarding places to eat and when to visit Coles Bay/Wineglass Bay according to the weather. The room was decked out in decor appropriate for the era of the building. The bed was comfortable, the shower had great pressure and the little personal touches like complimentary muffin and port made for a very special touch. It was quiet and dark. The breakfast the next morning was amazing. A great stay for travellers.

Excellent Option

Noel and Neal were great hosts and the accommodation was comfortable, clean and lovely and quiet. The breakfast was amazing and everything was home made. Definitely be returning in the not too distant future. Loved it!

The Meredith House is an amazing place to spend a couple of nights while traveling in Tasmania. The room/apartment was clean, comfortable and convenient. We have direct access from the street, and were able to park right in front of the unit. We also have access to a beautiful garden. The host were incredibly knowledgeable of the region and the service was second to none. We have the best breakfast in Tasmania at this place. Top quality B&B, I can't complimented enough!

Worthwhile stay in Swansea

The welcome was warm and the breakfast was very good, and Meredith House was a good place to stop over on the way through. We had originally booked a mews room then changed it to a suite in the main house - on arrival we were shown both and opted to go for the mews room after all. The rooms are a bit dated but are comfortable enough, and the home-made muffins and little bottle of sherry were very welcome after a long walk in Freycinet!
