I have stayed at this hotel before and I don’t know whether it was to do with coronavirus or not but this stay didn’t meet expectations. When we turned down the bedcover to sleep on the first night, we were surprised to find a stain on the bedsheet, just a bit bigger than a 500 rp coin. Upon seeing this I wanted to change the room but my partner didn’t want to cause a fuss. So we stayed in the room but we should have asked for another room considering the other faults I found. No bluebird taxi stand so it is a pain to go anywhere, and our drivers were charged a parking fee when exiting after picking us up. Since the property is far from things, you have to take cabs if you don’t have a car. Get a taxi stand and don’t charge them parking to pick up or drop off guests.

New property in east surabaya
Good brand new facility. However quite far from most actions and after hour, the traffic is quite bad it distract you to want to go elsewhere. Found an unclean sheets on day 1, the hotel said it is a red stain from make up or some thing but i thought it looks like dried blood. Quickly resolved and it is smooth sailing afterwards. Kudos to the quick service Breakfast is very good standard and quite good value. Lots of types of food ans desert and fruit is available

Good stay for work trip
The hotel staffs are really friendly and helpful. The hotel is bright and the room comes with an additional USB port for charging in case you forgotten to bring along universal adaptor and it comes with nice desk for work. Peaceful and quiet, nothing much in the surrounding proximity but there is a minimart close to the hotel.

Good but not great
Check in seemed a bit slow. Couldnt understand why a minimum amount of toilet paper was left in my room after cleaning. On one occasion I called the operator to ask for more and was told some would be sent up to my room but after waiting a good while I had to go to reception to ask for some.

It was awesome. It was just one thing was terrible. They were working for Ramadan display @ 2am, woke me up. Any kind of renovation should have been done during day time. However, we were compansated with free breakfast during our stay (2 days).

Comfort in Samator
The hotel is located in a new building in the heart of Samator, with comfortable and modern facilities. I was welcome by friendly and helpful reception staffs. The restaurant presented (buffet and a la carte) delicious meals (Indonesian and Western) by equally-welcoming staffs. The room was spacious, well-designed and laid-out, blending well with the bathroom to make it homely. I enjoyed working out in the modern and well-equipped gym. However, the location is developing and a bit isolated, but the nearest big mall is just about 10 min. away by taxi. In months or years, the area has the potential to be a bubbling place. For now, if you are heading there, ensure taxi drivers read the address well (language differences), so as not to be driven to another Novotel, as I was on my check-in day! As a great traveller, I took this as one of those things and had fun being driven around Surabaya! I had a great time at Novotel Samator, and I will be staying there again.

Tolerable Minor Issues, but Overall a Nice Stay!
Great new hotel ! Very comfortable ! A bit far from city centre but it has a spacious, comfortable room with strong wifi. Hence, no problem in ordering food via ride hailing apps. However it has some minor issues which I think can be improved, such as water not flowing into the sink properly, shower’s water power is a bit low. The room service is a bit slow in delivering simple request such as utensils. Despite those minor issues, the hotel is indeed a nice place to stay in Surabaya.
