Excellent location. Great ambience. Dinner was very good. Good choice for breakfast but the hot drinks weren't hot enough and the hot food on the buffet was only luke warm. Lovely, helpful staff. I would go back to this hotel.

Hotel was clean and spacious, the staff were lovely and the breakfast was very good. Great location with easy parking. Gym is basic and could use some dumbbells to improve the strength offering available for the size of the gym.

There appeared to be insufficient staff on duty. When trying to check in there was no one around for some time. When using the bar in evening there were huge queues as not enough people to serve. The hotel itself was a good place to stay, breakfast was good and had tables were quickly made available despite it being busy, but the experience was impacted by poor service.

Great location lovely spa and fabulous breakfast included one small thing no catering for gluten free in restaurant we had to leave to eat many gluten free restaurants available in town within walking distance, breakfast was great though very basic gluten free unless you eat pork .More dietary options needed but otherwise a great hotel

Rooms OK but BF Buffet problems.

The checkin staff was nice and efficient. The room had mentainance issue especially with the sink. The breakfast menu was nice but there was a Dutch couple there with 3 kids and they were allowed alone to take food. They touched food items and then put them back. Also, they came back to the buffet with their plates and forks and used it to take food. The staff saw that but did not intervene. Good that I finished before they arrived as I lost my appetite.

This hotel has one of the best and most expansive breakfast buffets I have ever seen!! There was so much to choose from and the cost was very reasonable. I honestly was disappointed the rest of our trip at the variety other hotels offered for breakfast as I compared them all to the one we had here. It was impressive and delicious!! The area is very walkable, close to the older parts of town and the main square. Would definitely stay here again if we traveled through the area. 😁

Great Stay in the ❤️ of Esslingen

We loved the proximity to everything downtown. It was all within walking distance. The room was spacious and comfortable. AWESOME breakfast! We would have liked different choices in pillows (a hard and a soft) - both were big and poofy, but very firm. The shower glass wall was too short to prevent water from spraying on the floor (despite tilting the shower head down as much as we could). All in all, a FABULOUS hotel!!!

I loved staying at this property. We opted for the room with the street view which was well worth the additional upcharge. The view of the distant clock towers and other architecture was gorgeous during golden hour. The room included a mini kitchenette and a separate area with a couch. Downstairs included a bar and dining area. That staff was very approachable with good service. Additionally, attached to the property is a self pay parking garage which made parking safe and convenient. The location was approximately 30minutes to the Porsche museum and 20 minutes to the Mercedes museum. I would stay at this property again.

For such a nice hotel I was surprised about the lack of air conditioning or at least a fan. Thankfully I brought 2 small fans that used a USB just in case

Enjoyable stay. Some feedback: hotel information says no check in after midnight. Their desk isn’t manned throughout the day either. I had to use the phone at the front desk every time I had to speak to someone. It wasn’t a long wait so I’m not deducting from my rating but just feedback, at a minimum keep the desk manned during regular business hours. Love the decor and vibe. The breakfast spread was really good too.

A nice hotel with major issues

Upon arrival on a Sunday afternoon, I stood at the counter for about 15 minutes before someone finally appeared to check me in! Not the best way to welcome new guests or attract customers. Getting the airconditioner to work required a call to the front desk from a room with no phone as there were no clear instructions posted as to how to accomplish this. To my surprise the hotel had signs for a Spa! Soon after this discovery, I saw a small sign posted in the elevator that the SPA was closed!! The air conditioner started making loud, intermittent noises after running for about 15 minutes; this continued for a while even after it was turned off. The hotel is conveniently located; the rooms are nice, some with nice views of the beautiful city of Esslingen.

Very comfortable stay; service needs improvement!

The room was very comfortable with a nice bathroom with heated floors. There was a suite-pad (Ipad) in the room, which did not work too well, but no telephone. As my cell phone's charge was near 0 and I had forgotten my U.S. adapter, I went down to the front desk to inquire about an adapter. I was informed that there was a charger in the room, on the desk. I returned to the room, but could not find this charger, so had to return to the front desk at which time the receptionist walked me to the bar area to show me what the charger (a pad) looked like. A nearby guest clarified that this was located on the NIGHTSTAND in the room, not the desk. I could have saved myself two trips to the front desk!! How about putting some signage up so weary travellers can find things quickly!!! When I was looking for a bottle opener (nothing in the fridge in the room!), I called the front desk. The receptionist explained that she would bring the opener to the room for me to use while waiting as she would have to return it to the bar! Maybe equip the fridge with some basics? A great improvement is the sauna/gym area. I went to the top floor to check it out, and while it looked good, again there was no signage as to what the rules/hours are. Especially in Europe I would like to know ahead of time what the dress rules for the sauna are!

The Leonardo Hotel in Esslingen is my go to when visiting Esslingen. The hotel has nice rooms, parking, and is just a short walk from the Altstadt. I just like it and so I stay here.
