"A fabulous welcome from staff. The hotel has recently been decorated, new carpets and it is spotlessly clean. However, some things are dated. Perfect for a stopover on the way to Northern Scotland. We will stay here again. "

"This is a well located hotel with parking. It’s dog friendly and there’s a park within a couple of minutes. The staff are all excellent but sometimes there aren’t enough (especially during a busy breakfast). The rooms are a bit tired but they’re fine for the price. "

"This is a beautiful hotel, the castle is lovely but the new building is gorgeous. The room was a good size and was very tastefully decorated, and we had plenty of tea and coffee. The staff are very friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, served in the main bar area. "

"Window in room wouldnt close fully so was very noisy from road. Staff very friendly & food in restaurant excellent. "

"The actual room was fairly clean with a decent shower and toilet and good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits. Quite a bit of traffic noise from the main road. The building and surroundings are very run down, I wasn't even sure the pub was open to go in and collect the key as the windows had bars on them and the hanging sign was empty. Needs a bit of a paint job. Parking was dodgy, surrounded by bins, rubbish and just not very clear where to park."
