「I had a wonderful nights stay in a king size bed in an extremely quiet farm away from normal life. There was a good view of the splendid fireworks from the Summer ball down in Tavistock that night, then waking up to a lovely cooked breakfast. The couple were very helpful throughout and I will book again. Don't expect modern day living just homely comfort and a great view of the countryside on a working farm.」

「The property was clearly undergoing a transformation and only partly ready for the public. However the bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the breakfast was very good. Some nice touches make the stay a step above the ordinary. 」

「We had such a lovely one night stay, the hosts were so helpful and thoughtful, especially as we were arriving late on a Saturday evening. We were made to feel very welcome. The room was lovely, absolutely spotless and very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone for any length of stay. Lovely breakfast too」

「Friendly staff. Room very clean. Bed lovely & comfy. Could have done with a net that fitted window. No breakfast or food but we only used as a base to visit relatives so that didn’t matter. Fridge in room was good to chill drinks. 」

「The unique thing about the Halfway House Inn is that it is truly dog friendly, no rip off £15 - 20 a night charge that we got at all the other hotels/pubs we stayed in on our 18 days away. We were made to feel welcome with our dog and not treated like 2nd class citizens」

「james very friendly, check in was very fast and clear, and provided breakfast ,room was very clean and bed very comfortable, bathroom looked new and like have been refurbished, room furnished with the ingenuity of the owner, it’s great location to stay ,few minutes walk to near the sea , highly recommend staying here. and very quiet at night!」

「Although we didn't get to meet our hostess, the owner/host and his staff were fantastic. The pub was cosy and clean and extremely reasonably priced and the service was amazing. Very pleasant and friendly people who genuinely cared about making our stay pleasurable. Absolutely recommend and should we find ourselves down that way again, we will most certainly stay here. Thank you. 」
