★☆☆☆☆ – A Distressing Experience I Would Never Wish on Another Traveller
I booked this property through Expedia for one night and, before travelling, emailed the owners several times to explain that I would be arriving with my trained psychiatric assistance dog. Every email was ignored. Had they simply replied before I travelled, I would have cancelled my booking and stayed elsewhere.
Instead, I travelled to the property alone with four suitcases, only to be told on arrival, "We don't allow dogs." My dog is not a pet. He is a trained and accredited assistance dog who assists me with my disabilities.
The owners themselves had a dog living at the property and allowed on furniture used by guests, yet my dog was refused.
As a lone female traveller, I was then left to drag 4 suitcases outside and sit on the curb in the heat with my assistance dog and nowhere to stay. I was visibly crying and distressed. No assistance was offered. No attempt was made to help me find alternative accommodation, arrange transport or even show the slightest compassion. I was simply expected to leave.
The property is advertised as a B&B, yet breakfast is an additional charge. The photographs also give the impression of communal guest spaces, but on arrival I found myself walking into the family's private dining area while they were eating, which felt uncomfortable. Depsite repeatedly emailing and calling the airport transport supposedly offered was not given and I had to pay a 50 taxi surcharge
