2/10 Terrible

"They didn't have a room for us, despite us booking a room and getting charged for it. Now I have to sit on the phone with hotels.com, and this motel isn't even responding to hotels.com requests. The only room they had available was a smoking room even though we booked non-smoking, which is crazy that they even have those, and it smelled absolutely disgusting. In general this place did not seem clean or well-maintained."

"I can’t say enough about this hotel. I’ve stayed in New York several times, but all my future stays will be at this establishment. I’ve never stated a hotel where the staff was so helpful and bent over backwards to make sure you were comfortable. Felt safe and helped you with what ever you needed. Thank you."

"I checked into the hotel and unfortunately fell in the room, had a knot on the back of my head and broke 2 toes. My cousin contacted the Front Desk and an ambulance came and took me to the hospital. I never had a chance to unpack and stayed in the hospital for 6 days. When I contacted the hotel on day two to see if I cancel the reservation I was told that since I checked in that my request was denied. I understand that the hotel has procedures but I never had a chance to enjoy it. The Clerk showed no empathy and never escalated my request based on my circumstance. I was just very disapointed."

"I love this hotel. It is beautiful, great staff, walking distance to the best of New Haven and affordable. We have stayed there before and will be back again and again! FYI for those of you planning on sampling the “pizza”. It’s called appiza (ah beets) and there is nothing like it in the world. Grew up there…total appiza snob. Skip the touristy spots on Wooster and hit up something local (Bar or Modern)."

"We left a party early so we could watch the NBA Finals ... The TV only picked up 2 channels ... no local channels, so we couldn't watch the game. Very, very disappointed ... I've never seen a hotel in a large city which did not offer any local channels, and only 2 channels, each of which I would never watch ... very disappointed ..."
