South Australia is a diverse getaway destination featuring breathtaking coastal and outback landscapes, exciting cultural events and award-winning wineries.
Start your visit in the state’s stylish capital, Adelaide. The city is centrally located just a few hours’ drive from South Australia’s famous wine, outback and coastal regions. Visit Adelaide in February and March, when the city hosts a selection of festivals, including the famous Adelaide Fringe. See sensational sports events, music concerts and arts performances. Stroll along the Torrens River and see black swans or join the crowds at an Australian Football League match at Adelaide Oval.
Head north from Adelaide to visit the magnificent Flinders Ranges and Wilpena Pound, a natural crater surrounded by outback mountain ranges. Hike the trails at Arkaroo Rock to see native flora and 5,000-year-old Aboriginal rock paintings. Australia’s famous frontier history lives on at the historic Pichi Richi Railway, a picturesque train line which operates services from Port Augusta and Quorn in the Flinders Ranges.
Take in views of Australia’s dramatic southern coastline at Fleurieu Peninsula, home to the McLaren Vale winery region and gateway to Kangaroo Island. Reach the picturesque island via a 45-minute ferry and explore the island by foot, car or bicycle to see stunning scenery and native wildlife.
Further west is the Eyre Peninsula with scenic port cities, Whyalla and Port Lincoln. This region features several fascinating national parks, pristine beaches and fantastic diving opportunities. See ancient caves and discover the quiet, treeless landscape of the Nullarbor Plain.
South Australia is known worldwide for its fine produce and prized wines. Visit Clare Valley and Barossa Valley, both within 2 hours’ drive of Adelaide, to sample excellent wine, beer and cuisine, largely influenced by the area’s German settlement over 150 years ago.
Reach South Australia with interstate train and bus services or by plane to Adelaide Airport and Mount Gambier Airport. Rent a car to explore the state but take care when driving through remote areas where vineyards outnumber fuel stations.

Unfortunately gym and pool were shutdown due to Covid-19. Needs to be done without a doubt but nevertheless disappointing.
Close to Rundle Mall and other city attractiions, however Friday nights are noisy due to the Atlantis Pub closing at 3am
Staff were lovely and very helpful. Coridoors are very attractive and elegant. Overall no probpems with the room or hotel. Only down side, balcony room had a lovely view of the multi level car park across the road, no privacy.
I often stay here when I go to the city. This time due to Covid-19 we couldn't use the pool etc. However the room was good, the balcony area was very dirty tho. A little disappointing TV remote had no batteries & the Spa jets didn't work. I had batteries for remote with in 5 Mins. The staff I did ...
Stunning views of the city from the tenth floor. Decorated lovely but the appliances were a bit dated. Bed was really comfortable
Great location (Rundle Mall is next door, and you can catch a bus to and from the airport on the same street as the hotel) and a previous reviewer mentioned that the shower had great pressure; they're not wrong there! Would definitely stay here again when in town next time!
Oaks Embassy is perfectly placed near all public transport and walking distance of most city attractions. The rooms are self contained, spacious and classy with very pleasant views from your balcony.
Pretty nice place. No stairs which is a pain and the bathroom could do with a reno. Noise from the Lion Hotel next door means having the windows closed at night and the air con is only in the living room in the two bedroom apartment we stayed in. For over $200/night I'd have thought daily housekeeping ...
